Katie is a young Yellow Kacheek and the niece of Professor Lambert. She was introduced during the War for the Obelisk plot and is one of the challengers that can be fought at the Battleground of the Obelisk, fighting on behalf of the Seekers. Katie wears large round glasses and keeps her red hair tied up in pigtails. Despite her young age, Katie is a genius-level inventor. Her most notable invention is her large battery-powered fighting robot, which she has ironically named Tiny.

Originally from Moltara, Katie currently lives with her uncle in Brightvale. She enjoys Brightvale's expansive libraries and does not want to return home to Moltara. She often helps her uncle sort and file paperwork and books. She sometimes gets picked on in school, and has even gotten into fights with bullies. Professor Lambert allowed her to tag along during the War for the Obelisk so that she could help Tom Cotterpin repair the Seekers' airship
