Bruno, however, when he took the potion, did not revet back to his unaltered self: he had been under the effect of Mr. Krawley's concoction too long. He would need a much more complicated solution, since his healthy un-cursed cells were long gone. Everyone else changed back because they had healthy cells left, and Bruno didn't. And the reason Bruno needed those cells is because Sophie's other potion restored the being that took it to the oldest cells it could find. And Bruno's cells had been replaced many times before he took the potion. So, in order for Bruno to transform, he would need a different (and WAY more complicated) method. The needed items: Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv6000 laptop computer (with 4 GB of RAM, 320 GB HDD, and Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme 4.2 GHZ overclocked processor), the SATA-to-Magic converter box (supplied by a ghost Lupe wearing a black shirt, jean shorts, and has hair that resembles Mrs.Brady's). It would also require Reggie's, Sophie's, Bruno's, Edmund's, and Alice's memory of what Bruno's characteristics were before he changed to begin with, and Sophie's magic. And the method would be a little something like this: Bruno would go to Sophie's shack, where she and the rest of the family are waiting. The unknown character would walk in. He would set down the S-to-M box, then sit down and wait to offer help when needed. The family would join hands, and try their very hardest to remember what Bruno looked like before he was cursed. Sophie would then lift up her staff, and whack it down at the floor. The coordinates for Bruno's body would then be displayed on the computer screen, along with little boxes with numerical values that can be changed from 0-100 for the things that the family could not remember. The screen would show Bruno's body (naked of course...), and when the family was satisfied with the coordinates, Sophie would gently tap the ENTER key with her staff. The laptop would then make furious clicking noises, and the cooling fan would sound much like a hairdryer being plugged into a 320 volt commercial outlet. A progress bar would be displayed, and after about ten minutes, the computer would be done with it's part, it would then show a dialogue box simply saying, "Finished". Sophie would then take out the newly-made potion, shake it well, and then prepare for her part - blasting the potion with all the magic she could manage. A bright-green, almost radioactive looking light would emanate from her body, and the potion would glow bright white. The potion would then be finished. "THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!", the unknown character would yell. Sophie would glare at him, and then hand the potion to Bruno. He would drink. He would then stare at his hands and complain that nothing happened. Sophie would then tell him, while she was still panting from before, that she wasn't finished. She would then get up, and blast Bruno himself with her magic. He would yelp in pain for a moment, and then realize something: He was back to his old self again, and that he was naked. "WHY AM I NAKED?!", Bruno would then scream. The unknown character would burst out laughing, and then Reggie would grin. Sophie would look pleased, but tired. Edmund would be rather surprised that everything had worked out, and Alice would hand him some clothes, and then give him a hug. And that is how Bruno could change back...but TNT was too lazy to think of it the way I did.

Bruno's How to Draw final image

Bruno is a Blue Gelert introduced through the Neopets TCG Haunted Woods expansion on (need date), and appeared on Neopets itself on October 3, 2006 as part of the Tale of Woe plot, and later in the game Bruno's Backwoods Breakaway.

A citizen of Neovia, Bruno was once a handsome Gelert, but was mutated by a potion he bought from Mr. Krawley. Though monstrous in appearance, he has good heart. Is the son of Edmund and Alice, and siblings Sophie and Reginald.

Plot Summary

The Tale of Woe

Main Article: The Tale of Woe

After trying starting a conversation with Lily, which resulted in him being hit by Oscar, Bruno wished he could be stronger and fitter. After taking Mr. Krawley's potion his wish came true. He recommends this miracle potion to his family, who's wishes are also granted, and soon the entire town is purchasing potions from Mr Krawley.

However, the potion worked too well and the town's desires became horrible distorted. Bruno became a monstrous Gelert, and, not finding Mr. Krawley, the entire town held what had happened to them as Bruno's, and by extension, his family's, fault. While Bruno made a distraction, his brother Reginald took Sophie, one of the few who did not want the potion, to the forest to find her protection in the form of the Earth Faerie Ilere. Bruno was chased from the town, and the towns people called on The Spirit of Slumber to remove the curse, but to terrible consequences: they only appeared in the town, as spectral, unreacting forms of their former selves.

Ten years later, Gilly, when fleeing from Bruno's sister Sophie who had grew into a powerful swamp witch, entered Bruno's cave and set a trap for him, scared of the monstrous thing that stalked in the dark. Bruno joins Gilly and convinces Sophie to try and restore Neovia. After finding the name of the Spirit of Slumber in life, they call upon him and he undoes his spell on the Neovians. They return, however, in their monster forms.

After some trials, which included Bruno having to endure to some less-than-desirable side-effects of testing several potions, the correct reversing formula is prepared and given to the town in their water supply. Trivia

  • During the Random Theme of Sophie and Friends in the New Features on December 6, 2006, a drawing tutorial of Bruno was added, and the Advent Calendar animation showed an old Christmas gathering he and the rest of the family shared in Neovia before it was cursed.
