The Tale of Woe
:Main Article: The Tale of Woe

In a tale told to Gilly, she learns of Neovia which was a populated town within the Haunted Woods. The Neopians there lived in releative peace until Mr. Krawley started selling elixers to the townspeople to "fullfill their heart's desires". At first it achieved this but their wishes soon transformed them into horribly twisted forms. After putting the blame on one family, they forced two of it's members into the woods (Sophie and Bruno) and burned their house down. The townspeople started to attack each other but the Mayor managed to assemble order, saying they needed to be cured by The Spirit of Slumber. This spirit had lifited the elixer's curse, but at a terrible price, which is their bodies.
