The ninth annual [[Altador Cup]] began on May 22, 2014 and concluded on July 3, 2014.  As with previous years, users were asked to choose one of 18 teams, each representing a different [[Neopia|Neopian]] land.  After joining a team, users competed by playing games of [[Yooyuball]], [[Slushie Slinger]], [[Make Some Noise]], and [[Shootout Showdown]].  A [[Altador Cup IX Staff Tournament|staff tournment]] was also held in conjunction with this event.
