'''Meercas''' are energetic and mischievous [[Neopet]]s released on 7 February 2001. They [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=2&id=110 rarely get caught] for their frequent pranks, thanks to their small size and tremendous speed. 

Meercas have small bodies with round, [[wikipedia:mouse|mouse]]-like ears. Their body is connected to a long, flat tail reminiscent of a [[wikipedia:beaver|beaver]]'s. Meercas often support themselves on their tail, which gives them extra height. 

Mischievous and fun-loving, Meercas have been known to [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=2&id=29 steal toys] from other pets. Some Meercas have gone on to commit more large scale thefts - [[Heermeedjet and Merouladen]] have [[The Hunt for the Crown|stolen King Coltzan III's crown]] and [[The Great Qasalan Caper|robbed the Qasalan Treasury]]. 

When painted [[Maraquan]], Meercas resemble a [[wikipedia:porcupinefish|blowfish]]. In the [[Neopets Trading Card Game]], Meercas are associated with the element of air.
