'''Korbats''' are [[Wikipedia:Bat|bat]]-like [[Neopet]]s that were among the original roster available for creation from [[Neopets|the sites]] founding. They are [[wikipedia:nocturnal|nocturnal]] Neopets who are usually friendly and welcoming, even if they do look like [[wikipedia:vampire|vampire]]s. 

Though they have big ears, they are noted for their [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=1&id=163 keen sense of smell] rather than a sense of [[wikipedia:animal echolocation|echolocation]] - this is makes them more like the [[wikipedia:megabat|megabat]]s - old world fruit bats - than the [[wikipedia:microbat|microbat]]s - insectivorous and vampire bats. 

They have a long tail which they use to [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=1&id=163 anchor] [http://images.neopets.com/pets/korbat_starry_baby.gif themselves] when hanging upside down, and arms that are connected to the top edge of their wings. In the four basic [[colours]], it is only these wings that change colour - the rest of the body stays white. In some depictions (such as in trading cards) the insides of their ears change colour too. 

They are inquisitive Neopets who are happiest when the [[Kreludor|moon]] is full and they are up to mischief. The [[Maraquan]] Korbat is modelled after a [[wikipedia:Batoidea|Batoidea]] like a [[wikipedia:stingray|stingray]] or a [[wikipedia:manta ray|manta ray]]. In the [[Neopets Trading Card Game]], Korbats are associated with the element of darkness.

In the [[Battledome]], Korbats take thirty percent less damage from Darkness attacks, but thirty percent more damage from Light attacks. They also have six species abilities:
