Editing Purple

'''Purple''' is one of the many [[colours]] that users can paint their [[Neopet|Neopets]] and [[Petpet|Petpets]].  The Purple colour for Neopets was released on May 9, 2000.  Users can change the colour of their Neopets to Purple by using a ''Purple [[Paint Brush]]'' [[item]] at the Rainbow Pool.  In addition, the [[Treasure Maps#Secret Laboratory|Lab Ray]] also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Neopet to Purple.  Users also have the choice of changing their Neopet's colour to Purple when they complete a [[Rainbow Fountain|Fountain Faerie Quest]].  Lastly, a Neopet's colour can be changed to Purple by using an appropriate [[Morphing Potion]].

The Purple colour for Petpets was released on November 14, 2001.  Petpets can be painted Purple by using the ''Purple [[Paint Brush#Petpet Paint Brush|Petpet Paint Brush]]'' item at the [[The Rainbow Pool#Petpet Puddle|Petpet Puddle]].  In addition, the [[Treasure Maps#Petpet Laboratory|Petpet Lab Ray]] also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Petpet to Purple.

==Orange Spots==
When they were originally released, Purple pets had mysterious orange spots on their bodies.  According to [[Adam Powell|Adam]], the origin and purpose of these orange spots were supposed to be revealed in the cancelled 2004 [[The Return of Dr. Sloth|Return of Dr. Sloth]] [[plot]].  When the plot was re-written and released in 2009, it contained no mention of the orange spots.  As such, the purpose of the orange spots remains a mystery to this day.  

The orange spots were removed from all Purple Neopets on March 15, 2008.
