... and he changes colour to Elderlyboy!!

I now have an old crotchety Yurble Janitor!

If his name was not so... um... non-ideal, then I might keep him forever. For now, he's good to feed for QL and to Volunteer at the hospital.

...and she changes color to Electric!!

Still can't pound her. Thinking seriously of using a MP on her to get her to a species that I can pound.

Blue, name aside, that is hilarious.

I have ton of MPs in my SDB if you need one.

I now want a Yurble like this, but with a decent name. This just tickles me every time I look at it.

Oh, I have a ton of MPs, too. Just debating if I should do it or not.

I'll say it depends on your motivation for Zapping.

I like the random "what's going to happen to this pet" and now using rescued pets from the lab puts none of my long-time-cultivated pets at risk. Eventually, the pet will go back to the pound for someone else to love.

If your goal is to make Neopia a better place with more fun and exotic pets, then you're probably feeling stuck with that Lutari. MP it and get another ;) Frankly, it will cost you nothing if you have a bunch of duplicate MPs in your SDB. I appear to have a total of only 43 MPs, several of which are multi-duplicates including 7 Strawberry Techo Morphing Potions. No clue where I got those.

Oof. I have too many. Most of them are either from daily quest log prizes or other dailies. I also have 7 of the Strawberry Tech MPs. I don't think I would EVER do that to a pet. The one I have the most of is the Blue Xweetok Morphing Potion, at 12, so...that'll probably be what I use. Tomorrow. Before I do dailies.

Really, it's gotten to the point of feeling stuck with a Lutari. I enjoy labbing until it's something fun and I can put it back in the pound for someone else to enjoy. But...with a Lutari, while it's fun to see it change, I can't send it back the way it is.

Good Choice. I used to have a Blue Xweetok. It was on my side account and I lost access to it - The email I had associated with that Neo account is no longer viable (go.com is gone), so three pets with fun names are stuck there starving to death. I just checked on them and they are all very very sad. I would be too if I'd been trapped there without food for 19-1/2 years.

I finally have the lab ray on my new account! Will be zapping my battle pet for now for the stats.

Going to keep track of her stat changes, just to see how this thing works after about a decade! Just net stats (plus any more interesting changes, of course!):

Net:
+22 HP
-4 level
-6 defense
-5 movement

And I also had all the petpet lab pieces from REs, so I'll track petpet species changes, too.
Petpet changes:
Custard Aroota --> Island Gruslen (hmm... this one is paired with a water Blumaroo. It's not a bad combo. Should I keep it and switch who I'm zapping?)

Congrats on finally getting the Lab Ray back! It is oddly satisfying to zap a pet.

I stopped zapping my battle pet since she is now "perfect".

I also stopped zapping my "temporary" pound pet because the old Yurble Janitor is just too perfect

After getting Elderlyboy (and then girl when gender got swapped), I suppose this will do. Back to the pound with her today.

My water Blumaroo's petpet just got zapped to Island Gruslen. Can't decide if I like the combo or not... It's okay. Maybe I'll change petpets to zap for now and see how I feel in a week.

Edit: I'm exactly even on stats from the lab right now, and one petpet is currently a pile of soot. Glad I didn't actually spend money on the labs!

Edit: and my first species change, to green cybunny... And a petpet change, too, to rainbow gruslen

Edit: and a petpet has already completely disappeared! At least now I'm up one net stat from the lab ray right now (and I'm negative in movement, which doesn't matter to me).

Edit: zapped the Gruslen because it didn't match the blumaroo, and now it's a ghost snorkle. Even farther away from matching, so I'll keep zapping.

Edit: the cybunny is now desert. And there goes her Christmas customization... But some cool new clothes in the closet for the other eleven months of the year! (Edit: and I had another tab open and was able to pretty quickly restore the customization, with a couple of changes I prefer. Woohoo!)

Edit: Rainbow spardel... So derpy looking! Still doesn't match the vibe of the water blumaroo, though... Makes me wonder what the derpiest looking pet is to match it with.

Edit: red Anubis... Which the petpet actually kind of matches a blumaroo (similar face shape and ears). Maybe I should look through the colors. I might even have the right paintbrush in my SDB. Maybe Christmas or rainbow? Or even robot? What do you think? (Well, obviously can't paint robot. I have a Christmas PB, and a few other colors that might have worked but don't seem to be in the Anubis, like electric and blue)

Labbed petpets cannot be painted. If you take them off, they revert to whatever they were originally attached as.

There is, however, a robot petpet paint brush. Robot is not an exclusive color for petpets. It is easily obtainable at present, as it's in TVW's prize shop for 500 points.

I am specifically labbing a petpet to try and get a specific petpet-lab-only color/species for my MSPP. I'm on my...15th Pirate Alkenore now. The rest of POOFed.

Ah, it's been so long, I forgot how petpets work. Well, I'll keep zapping. Maybe at some point I'll buy a specific petpet, but I'm having fun zapping. It eventually gave me a cute petpet that matched a pet on my old account, and it's fun to see what the lab cooks up. It makes you consider things you never have before, and if I do decide to commit, I can always come back and get that robot Anubis.

Zapping is definitely fun.
And then you get days like today...
"Lazpip shall now be known as Lazpip. How nice."
...and my actual pet just changed gender (again) meaning I now have doubles of the elderly girl clothes for this species now, LOL.
