And why are we putting known things in spoilers?

Personally, I think overusing spoilers is good. They're not a hassle to open and it means nobody can be surprised and have something ruined for them unless they want to.

There isnt much practical use for it though.. With the new season running, all we do is discuss the current episodes, so those who haven't seen it yet don't really have anything to participate in, except for looking at spoiler tags. Unless of course they wánt to know, in which case the tags are also useless. They could just as well not come here until they've seen it

Right now you also don't have a way of knowing whether someone is discussing something from the current episode, or something that still has to come (like even the previews for next week, which people outside America don't see), since everything is spoilerized.
And I just prefer non-clicking to clicking

The BBC hasn't aired all of the season 1 episodes, I think. And some people from over there don't watch it online to be caught up, so it would still be spoilers for them.
And some people might not want spoilers for other reasons too, maybe.

Yes, but what if someone doesn't want to know future episode spoilers, but still wants to discuss the current episode?

Write spoiler warnings for the type of spoiler you're writing about
Well back on topic..
(this is a current episode spoiler btw)

But thanks to the magic of worldwide television, not everybody's up to the same episode. So they come waltzing in ready to talk about episode 1 when the Americans are discussing Episode 2 without spoiler tags.
Heck, New Zealand doesn't even have Heroes yet. It doesn't start here till next week.

I'm sorry. Highly illegal.

Australia is about 10 days late for Heroes (which is a great change to about 5 months late like we were last year).
So I can come on and see discussion from episode 1, but I don't want to be reading your comments about epsiode 2 as it won't screen until this Thursday.

But you can't watch them if you're not in america...
It makes sence to keep stuff in spoiler tags, but only if you say which ep you're referring to in the message too, otherwise they're pointless.

Yes, but there's no rule to say that
we're not allowed to say that we're watching Heroes from the internet.

Well actually you can but I'm sure you'd object to that as well.
Sun Oct 07, 2007 3:34 am
i'm not saying i object, i'm saying that you can't assume that everyone is willing to download/watch off the internet and assume that everyone is upto the same stage, and therefore you should keep comments in spoilers, and the spoilers are pointless if you don't say which ep you're discussing in the spoiler somewhere else in the post.
