There's a very legal, non-cheat way to get Mew and Celebi, you know. Find someone who has them (doesn't matter if they cheated or not) and trade with them. Since you had to find someone who had them, you got them fair and square.

On topic, but I checked all of my old school Pokemon games and they worked fine, though G/S/C asked me to check the clock settings.
