I, Lord Rhinestone Cowboy III, puppy-slap at you with my spear of ingenuity. Mischief and mayhem ensues.

Kaila looked nervous. "Okay... you mean that in like, ghosts, right? Because I don't think ghosts can hurt us... I mean they're dead, right?" In her nervousness, Kaila jabbered on and on.
She obviously didn't very much like the idea, but wasn't resisting.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Laruna smiled gratefully at Iaran.
"Well, that's good, anyhow. What's this about ghosts then? And when are we planning to go down there? And how?" Just like Kaila and Ramthura, she too was feeling confused and needing to know the answers to many questions. The weather outside was looking bleak; rain had to begun to pour down as if the heavens had opened up.
"Kaila, do you know when it will stop raining? Or could you stop it now?" She still didn't know much about the others' powers, or what they were capable of. In fact, she felt like they knew much more than she did about this whole thing.
Fri Jul 16, 2004 10:52 pm
"It won't stop until late tonight." Kaila said, absently, pausing her rantings. Talking about the weather seemed to calm her, and she was quiet for a second or two. Then she continued on, though softer, and not as if it was on the top of her mind.

Iaran sighed and stood up. "Calm down everyone. If the ancient prophecy is true, then we should be able to not only use our powers to defend ourselves, but also summon, or find, weapons that the original 7 had. But for now, we need to explain to the two newcomers what exactly is going on, I'm sure they are very confused."
Iaran quietly left the room to ask if the other people could have some of the guest rooms. After consulting with her mother for a while, Iaran returned and sat back down. "Once we are finished explaining everything, you may all come to our guest rooms. We cannot leave until tomorrow, when the rain has cleared."

"Using ancient powers to defend myself." Turai laughed. "Yeah, like this is going to help defend myself."
She raised her hands, and the rain on the roof suddenly began falling in slightly different patterns, belting out a cute little tune.
Then she stopped.
"I'm sure that's going to save lives."
Sat Jul 17, 2004 3:13 am
"Hey, that was cool... Turai, is it?" Kaila said. "I'm sorry, I'm so bad with names... I'm Kaila." she said, giving her name to Ramthura. "Keeper or whatever of Weather."
"I'm the one who started this mess. I didn't cause any of the earthquakes, but I found the book. And checked it out of the library."
Sat Jul 17, 2004 7:58 am
"Stop the rain? Keeper of the weather? Summon weapons? What is going on?" Ramthura yelled.
Sat Jul 17, 2004 9:10 am
Iaran sighed exasperatedly, "Calm down Ramthura, let me explain. All of us in this room can control an element. Each element is represented, in a way, by a stone. These stones are located all around the globe and we will need to free them. Each stone will greatly enhance the power of the person whose element the stone is. We will need to use all these stones to rebalance the Earth. For you see, the Earth becomes unbalanced every 500 years."
Sitting back down on the couch, Iaran pointed at people as she spoke. "Turai can control Water, Kaila can control Weather, Shane can control Darkness, Laruna can control Light.... I didn't catch the name of him, but he can control Earth. You can control Fire, which was obvious by your temper. And I can control Psychic."
Sat Jul 17, 2004 1:43 pm
Ramthura snorted in disbelief. "Oh, obviously!" he said sarcastically. "Look, if you think I'm going to believe you, then you must be stupid. Honestly, how can people be so dense?" As he spoke a thread of fire began to play next to his left eye.
Sat Jul 17, 2004 2:48 pm
"Uh... watch your eye. I don't want this room to catch fire or anything..." Kaila said, watching as the thread of fire appeared. "And you explain that to me if you have some fire right there... by your left eye..."
She held up her finger, and focused on it, wondering. A small electricity bolt flew out and touched her in the nose. "That tickled.

Shane looked at everyone. Just about everyone was freeking out. He sat there, listning to the rain fall. "so, we are spending the night here?" he asked, while making a dark, shadowy ball inbetween his hands.
Sun Jul 18, 2004 8:58 am
With a trembling hand, Ramthura reached up to his eye, and gripped the thread of fire. It felt pleasantly warm to him, and nothing else. He looked outside the storm clouds were making an early evening. He concentrated on the thread. It curled into a sphere. He took a deep breath as he held it in his palm, it grew until it was about the size of a football. The light was filled with its pleasant light.
||It might be the size of a SOCCER ball to some of you.||

Iaran sighed once more, then turned to Shane, "Yes, you may all spend the night here. Then we must set out tomorrow. We can retire to our rooms soon, and I have many spare rooms, just in case you were wondering."
Then Iaran peered around at the odd group sitting in her study. I think it's about time I checked their emotions.
Carefully releasing her shield, Iaran closed her eyes and cautiously let her mind flow around the others. She sensed mixed emotions of disbelief, worry, and some contentment. Although most of the people seemed thoroughly confused, and still slightly shocked by the news she had announced.
"I think it is about time you all show me what you can do with your powers, I have some knowledge of the other elements but I would like to learn exactly what you can all do. Firstly I will give you some information about my powers, the powers of the element Psychic. I am empathic, thus can sense emotions, I can read minds to some extent, I can shield my mind. Some of the powers I am learning are telepathy, and some levitation."

Turai cleared her throat, and put on a hillbilly accent.
"AAAH KIN MOOVE FINGS WIFF MAH MIIIND!" she laughed, then continued in her normal voice. "I've also always had a natural liking for water. I was one of those kids who would go swimming in a flood. I can actually swim faster than most can run... but that's probably not magical or anything. I just get a lot of practise, that's all.
And I can freeze and evaporate things. Although that comes in handy when I need to quickly dry some clothes for school, it doesn't actually do much else."
She blinked.
"Hehehe... sorry for rambling. Rain just gets me hyped."
Sun Jul 18, 2004 1:55 pm
Kaila nodded, touching her band-aid when Turai talked about freezing. "I've always liked storms more than other people, and was fascinated with the goings ons of the weather. It used to annoy my mother when I was younger, I would change the channel to the Weather Channel."
She looked at Turai. "What was it the book said, about having a little bit of the elements related to earth? Rain, I think that's what it is for whater. Rain and monsoons and tsunamis and hurricanes and things like that. Maybe all those related to earth have a little storm power in them to?"
