Almost everyone has played a board game. What are your favorites? I'd have to say Monopoly or Clue.

The Game of Life. I love playing it with my dad.

Monopoly comes in a close second.

Ooh, tough choice. I'd say Monopoly, Hotel, Life, and Clue. Ah, throw Moolah in there too.

(Anyone remember Grape Escape? You know, the one with all the Playdoh? And uhh...that Mouse Trap one? XD)

Hehe, I still have my Grape Escape game :D My brothers like playing it x) Also I think they have Mouse Trap still. Two other oldies I loved were Hungry Hippos and Screwball Scramble.

Ah those were the days :)

Last month when we were eating at Olive Garden (Italian restaurant chain) there was a child playing Hungry Hungry Hippos. Why a parent would allow a child to bring such a noisy toy into a restaurant is beyond me, but there it was.

As for my favorite board games, I love Trivial Pursuit, and I'm also quite fond of Monopoly and Life.

Chess is alright. I used to play it a lot.

I run The Infinity Program, a den of villains and swashbucklers.

African Star, of course.

Quote:
Afrikan tähti ("Star of Africa") is the most important Finnish board game ever. Designed in 1951 by then 18 years old Kari Mannerla, it has sold over 3 million copies since, half of them in Finland. There's one in almost every home in Finland.

Players start in either Cairo or Tangier and start exploring Africa, trying to find gems. The main objective is to find the legendary giant diamond, Star of Africa. However, when flipping the tokens, players cannot know what they will find: nothing at all, some lesser gemstones or even a robber stealing their money and slowing their progress.

When someone finds the Star of Africa, a race begins. The player with the diamond tries to deliver it back to Cairo or Tangier, other players try to find a horseshoe - a token discarded with no value before, now a key to victory. Winner is the player who reaches Cairo or Tangier first, carrying either the diamond or a horseshoe.

Monopoly and Clue mainly.

I used to play Life a lot when I was younger too, but I grew out of it.

I never actually played that Mouse Trap one, just set it up and then ran it all through. XD

Probably Monopoly, it's just that good classic.
