Come to think of it... I have a skirt that's almost exactly like a Hogwarts uniform skirt. And an appropriate shirt and tie wouldn't be too hard to find. I wouldn't have the jumper or robes, but I'd have the rest. God I'm a geek.

My mum wouldn't let me go to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone alone because she thought that the people dressed up were "messed up in the mind." xD

My friend and I still need to decide how we're going to dress up for our local bookstore's release party...We're probably just going to wear robes or something. My mom wants us to dress as the Weasley twins, though...

Oooh, now that I think of it, it'd be more appropriate to wear a shirt with 'Ron/Hermione or I'll vomit all over my pretty collection of HP books.' on it. I mean, I am going to die if Harry and Hermione become a couple, you know.
Besides, I'll just get 'omg wth she's weird' looks if I wear a shirt with the word 'Sparklypoo' on it. With a R/Hr or death shirt, I'll get 'OMG what the heck GET THIS INSANE WITCH (squee, thank you!) AWAY FROM ME/MY CHILDREN/MY GREAT-UNCLE BILIUS. YOU MAKE THE BABY VOLDEMORT CRY, YOU FREAK!', stares of shock and horror, and with luck, I'll get into a few shipping wars that'll include a stack of books being thrown at someone's head with considerable force and/or my sitting on someone's back, screaming, "HARRY AND HERMIONE ARE LIKE BROTHER AND SISTER AND YES, MANY VERY-MUCH-IN-LOVE COUPLES FIGHT. RON/HERMIONE FOREVAH WITH SOME HARRY/GINNY ON THE SIDE, YOU DEATH EATER. RAAAAR*EATSTHEIRBRAINS*"
On the other hand, I could scan in the covers of all of the HP books and print about a hundred copies out, then staple/tape it all together and wear it as a dress. That would be fun. Unless it rained. Then I'd cry. Or, more likely, scream and hide inside a costumed person's robes.

Wear something under it, and make sure you get a picture. THAT I'd like to see

...Alex wrote:How many of you are planning on purchasing the Deluxe Edition of HBP? It's supposed to have about 32 pages of only art, and exclusive, never-before-seen art, at that.
Me? I'll probably buy both the regular and deluxe editions of the book. Well, if I can find the money by July 16, anyway.
I'll get both if I can find the deluxe edition. I also collect the leatherbound editions of the books, so...
Even though my mom doesn't like to spend unneccesary money on stuff, she is totally willing to buy me expensive Harry Potter books...
I just tried to spell money munnay... I'm so tired...
*goes off to design costume for the release party* (I also just tried to spell party praty)
EDIT: On another note, I downloaded the Countdown Clock for Firefox, and set it for the release of Half-Blood Prince.

My pet theory right now is that the Gringotts goblins will turn. They're the first wizarding people we encountered who didn't go, "Ooooh, it's Harry Potter!" Foreshadowing, perhaps?
Secondly, Voldemort's bargain with them - promising long-withheld freedoms - is potent. I can just see them referring to the 1673 Goblin Rebellion as '73, can't you? Well, they're about to become the modern IRA.
Thirdly, the goblin leader whom the Order is negotiating with is named Ragnok. That is a distinctly bad omen.
Lastly, I've always had a sense that Harry was taking his fabulous wealth for granted, and when he's loose on Diagon Alley in PoA, the wealth is suddenly not regarded as inexhaustible, but there's no sign of running short yet. I suspect a land mine.
EDIT: No, sorry, that's 1612. Which can fit at the same place with the same meter as '98 in Rising of the Moon, and besides, '12 looks dumb.

Wow thats a good theory Tharkun!!
It actually makes sense! I believe that could really happen...

What brass! They fire John Williams, but then they get to use his most rousing score ever in the GoF trailer? I hope they get to recycle his music in the actual movie; might give that French guy who's composing for OotP some incentive. Anyway, why don't they fire the guy it makes sense to fire - Steve Kloves? I mean, why fire John Williams the moment he starts making a real effort?

Tharkan, good theory regarding the Gringotts Goblins!
and they sacked john williams? after the genius that was "hubble bubble" GAH.

JK updated her site with info on HBP

She also said Luna isn't Snape's secret daughter... I wonder how people come up with these theories?

I believe Kloves has decided he won't be writing the script for OotP- I don't recall who is, now, if someone's even been hired yet.
I think he's decided that, at least. I'm not sure.
It's a shame they fired Williams, though, he's brilliant, and made the soundtracks one of the best things about the films.

Y'know, if Luna is anyone's secret relative, she's Ollivander's. But I don't think she is.

Hey, I could see Luna being the relative of Ollivander. They were both insane, yet you wonder exactly how much they know. You never know. O__O;
Only 63 more days...

Oh, and about the other stuff:
I'm really glad that the Veritaserum plothole is cleared up. Especially as it's very, very power-gamey without it.
Concerning the school song question, does anybody else think that she's reminding us that she is now a full-fledged children's author? Oh, but I do.
She's sure biding her sweet time on that FAQ poll. Does that mean she's going to pull a Bard of Esgaroth on us??
