I have to agree. Bullying is not something you can just shrug off. It might seem that some people do, but the hurt digs deep into you, but worse than that, to me anyway, is the humiliation and the feeling of helplessness most people get when being bullied. When I was bullied I couldn't fight back. I mean, I could but couldn't if you get what I mean. I could easily knock them onto their backs but I was so afraid of what that would cause if I did. there would definitely be repercussions, definitely worse things would happen to me. And sometimes, actually most times, I'd just freeze or worse still, I'd cry. And that made it so much worse.

I've never been physically bullied, but I've been harrased; mostly when I'm with my girlfriend, or taunted about how I look.

They probably define bullying as random teasing and occasional taunting, with a few joking punches in between.

I was bullied in Primary School, because of my weight (Something I still strugle with), when I was weak and not as confident as I am now. Now they try to but it just makes me feel sorry for them. They call me a fat goth, Evan though I'm punk... (The teens in my school are very dumb and think they know everything...)

I'm now more or less exepted by people who've known me through Primary school. Even the people who used to bully me. Because now they know what I am like. One is now even my best friend (He didn't bully be very often though.). The only people who try to now are the people who don't know me Eg. new pupils to the school or people who didn't get to know me.

Pshaw, they're obviously blind then. You're very pretty, Holly, and anyone who teases you about it is obviously just jelous.

And Spira, you of all people should know that... I just don't care about most anything. :/

Or at least say that you don't, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. And I stand by what I said about bullying.

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

There's hindsight, mind.

If you're being bullied, you care. That's the whole point. But when you're not anymore, it's easy to say 'i didn't care' to prevent looking weak.

Agreed. I cared, a lot, and it really bothered me, when I was being bullied. But now, there's a part of me that wants to say I was never bullied, or that it didn't bother me, because it makes me feel bad.

That's why bullies can keep going on, because people convince themselves they don't care, that they don't need to tell anyone, and just push the hurt caused farther in.

Not that telling someone helps. Made it worse, for me.

On the flipside, going around saying 'people tried to bully me but I didn't care' can encourage people to just ignore bullying types.

I ignored the bullying period for me but I cared a lot. A lot. I didn't want to go to school because of it. It only happened in the morning and afternoon (Just the bus rides home and to school). But I still felt hurt. I didn't want to know all of the garbage people were saying about me. It hurts to know you have people who hate you because you're close to someone they have a crush on.

I have been before.

Mainly in 4th, 6th, and 7th grade. Luckily now people don't bug me as much as they did last year. I still get the occasional hurtful comment but last year was a lot worse.

Want my bully history? =P

Primary school.. a bit of both. More on the bully-side though. I had my little gang, and we beat religious kids up. I don't really remember much, all I know is what people told me. Apparantly I got 2 kids to change schools. One of them who was more of a bully to me than I was to her. I become one because I socialised with the wrong crowd in my early years.

High school.. When I was a freshmen, I was bullied. Not to the extent that I would jump off a really tall building and survive. (Which happens here quite frequently..) But I was a bit of a dork back then, so that's probably why. People still attempt to bully me, since I have long hair. And because I'm white, but yeah.

I'm big and strong enough to get rid of those that bully me. If people bully others, I'll pick them up and throw them in the trash can or put them on a vending machine. I only "bully" the bullies now.

I'm sure I was bullied, but it has stopped as I have gotten older. Generally teasing works on both ends now, or theres mutual agreement between myself and whomever I dislike (whom has the same discontent for me) just wont talk to each other.

We have fun with it though now, there is this one guy I've known for years who threw snowballs at me and a few friends while we were walking home. We shouted "Horrible aim" and the general "You throw like a sissy" comments. Good times!

It's the people who dish it and then make themselves the martyr of the situation or people who feel victimized after shooting the verbal gun themselves that get me angry.

Yep. I skipped 2nd grade, and my idiot of a 3rd grade teacher saw fit to tell everyone else that in an attempt to get them to accept me. It backfired quite horribly, and I didn't have any friends until 6th grade. Then we all got bullied because we were unpopular. The school didn't do anything about it, and one of my 'friends' actually helped spread the rumors that we were worshiping Satan, making out in the bathrooms, etc.

Fortunately, she moved :)

The rumors never really went away though. Kids used to throw rocks at me and my best friend. I had a bruise the size of a walnut on my shoulder, and the principal still stood by the whole 'Boys will be boys, they just like you, trying to get your attention' piece of crap. Then when I threatened to kill one of them, I got an ISS. Go figure.

I'm a freshman in high school now, and no one really bothers my gang anymore. No one cares. Sure, you get into the occasional spat with jerks, but for the most part things have smoothed out.
