Does that mean if the news went up that there were neo staff at the office? or is it done by computer

Apparantly they upload the new content all during the day and there are times when the site updates and uploads all the new stuff, like midnight NST or sometimes in the afternoon I suppose if they update it by hand. I remember seeing a staff member post that somewhere. That somethign was fixed and it would be changed the next time the site did an automatic update. Or, perhaps I hallucinated it while playign NQII.

*edit* I was just thinking - usually the news doesn't update on sunday night, so maybe someone was in the office working today/tonight (sunday, that is).

It's also not meant to be funny. And it's not exactly fake as people ACTUALLY can get hurt by that. No one is being hurt by me saying I'm going to burn a fake plushie. Either way I didn't know people here were so uppity over jokes about nothing. I'll be more conservative and more boring in future postings by not saying anything other than "blah blah blah is my opinion blah blah." :)

PS: Again, with a grain of salt people. Ease up! Drink some borovan and have a slice of asparagus cake for goodness sake!

Erm... On topic I wasn't all too impressed with this week's "extra long" editorial though interesting stuff was shed (they finally offically smothered Guild masters for the time being and teased us with the return of the pirates attacking Maraqua again... can't wait for that one! Maraqua was one of my favorite lands)

Or someone did it from home ;). The news was up around 11PM their time. I would imagine that at least some of them have home access to updating the site. However they do it....FTP or something.

In the news there is a picture of a Yurble playing a clarinet... I looked through the NT but couldn't find anything to do with that. Do they just put random pictures in?

It's usually an article or story found in the issue.

BTW the story the image is in is here:

I guess I just didn't look well enough, thanks for posting the link. It was the first story (other than editorials of course) in the NT that I have read during my years on Neo...

Q wrote:Hmm, well, 'horrendous few weeks' could just mean a lot of stuff happened at once. Remember Donna was sick, I think Adam too, they both had birthdays, Neopets had its birthday, the Holidays and New Year...that's a lot right there, lol! We can't imagine what else was going on and there can be just plain yucky stuff that you have to deal with in business too.

It could also be weather related. My relatives in LA tell me it's been raining like mad and flooding everywhere. Which causes problems for everything. They might have lost a few computers due to the rain. Remember that neocam picture from a while back showing the ceiling being all soaked?

You know, maybe this editorial wasn't super huge. Maybe there was a mistake made in a picture (showing a new pet) ... whatever.

I agree with Q that it could be weather related. I was just watching the World News - Southern California is in alot of trouble with the weather and it's getting worse. Mud/land slides, people have died!, lost their homes, etc. The first thought I had when I read "horrendous few weeks" was oh no, they were affected somehow by the tsunami, like knowing someone who was there.

Whatever the reason, I truly hope that all goes well for Adam, Donna and the entire staff. If there is something "horrendous" going on, I for one applaud that they were even able to get a new NT or editorial up or that they cared enough to right now. If you had something huge going on in your life, can you honestly say that you would be worrying about trying to get some news on a game site up?

gets down off soap box, slumps away ...

ha. even stating your opinion can get you yelled at if you don't carefully word it. quite sad...here i thought PPT was a place where we could openly talk about things without being nitpicked. it's almost as dangerous as the neoboards around here.

anyway, i seriously doubt that the horrendous few weeks were anything personal. i don't think TNT wants millions of people to know that much about their personal lives. they prolly just didn't plan it out properly in advance. i strongly suspect the same thing happened with the recent hannah plot.
