Tarla
Tarla is a red Ixi who runs a Shop of Mystery on the top of Terror Mountain. Created on August 10, 2004, Tarla was originally from Meridell, but moved to Terror Mountain to open her shop, which Mika and Carassa helped her clean up for opening.
Tarla's Shop of Mystery[edit]
Tarla will restock her inventory of mysterious blue bags at random times but unlike other shops, users do not know what they are buying beforehand and are not given the option to haggle. The prices of the bags vary and are not necessarily related to the contents. It is thus possible to spend thousands of Neopoints and only receive a Pile of Dung.
Tarla's Toolbar Treasures[edit]
Since October 7, 2006, Tarla has been giving away free random items during certain times through the alert system on Neopets Toolbar. Users who don't have the toolbar can be alerted by others who do with the proper link. The giveaway is timed and doesn't last very long. The prizes received are usually rare, and include painted petpets and paint brushes. Users have expressed concern with how the giveaways are affecting the Neopets economy, with items ranging in the millions of Neopoints to be in the thousands after a giveaway.
Tarla's Tour of Mystery[edit]
From April 9, 2010 to May 26, 2010, a site event called Tarla's Mystery Tour took place. During this event, Tarla (with a new humanoid look) appeared at different locations for a short time period. Once you found her, you may have had choices of neopoints, an item prize, or to have a section of the mist revealed, the last of which was not available every time you found her. There were 16 mist sections in all, and you were limited to 5 item prizes each day during the event. If you cleared all the mist by the end of the event, you got five bonus prizes.
After the 26th of May the missing sections of the mist can be bought from Tarla's Shop of Mystery. This second chance was given only to those users who had cleared at least one section of mist during the event.

- Tarla's Neopedia article was released on July 9, 2004.
- October 7, 2009 was randomly themed Tarla Day. An avatar featuring Tarla was released on the same day and obtained by purchasing any item from the Shop of Mystery.
