Bertie Shurtz
Bertie Shurtz is a Green Kougra and has been the Centre Forward for Mystery Island's Yooyuball team since 2006. Though she lacks toughness and doesn't score many goals, Bertie is a quick forward with superb passing skills that excels at running plays.
With her fellow forwards providing most of Mystery Island's scoring, Bertie's job is to set up their shooting opportunities with plenty of picks and passes. Because teams often double up on Volgoth, or even Nix when he's on a particularly hot streak, Bertie will occasionally get a nice, wide-open shot at the net. When such opportunities come around, she usually makes the most of them.
In 2012 Mystery Island made a change in their formation to 2+2. Following this event, Bertie Shurtz announced her long awaited retirement, being replaced by Selmon Woulf.
