The Underwater Chef is a Flotsam chef who runs the Kitchen Quest. He works as Mumbo Pango's cook on Mystery Island. He is frequently overwhelmed by his workload as Mumbo Pango demands meals every 5 minutes, and seeks help by asking Neopians to find ingredients for him in the Kitchen Quest. He stars in the game Island Chef Academy.
The Underwater Chef used to live in Old Maraqua serving King Koi's Royal Family of Maraqua, for whom he did the original Kitchen Quest. He was updated to be a Flotsam and relocated to Mystery Island when Maraqua was destroyed. He has remained on Mystery Island even though Maraqua has since been rebuilt. The original chef appeared to be a shrimp-like creature instead of a Neopet.
