Ok, this is how it is: I have a 'grand plan' of sorts, which includes buying a Lab Map to zap until I get a MSP Poogle, getting a Krawk to paint plushie, and getting one other Plushie pet (yet to be determined). Now I was going to go for the Lab Map first, but when I browsed for the Krawk, I could only find 3 Krawks (at insane prices). So my question is this: should I ignore the Lab Map for now and continue saving up for a Krawk, before they inflate to absurdity? Or should I go for the Lab Map first, and use the couple of months extra zapping this gives me to try and acquire an MSPP? Any and all input appreciated.

PS: Since I lost my bookmarks, could someone be kind enough to give me an adress of a decent site where I can view all the different colour combinations? Not http://www.neopets.com/~Millysal, I find it's too erratic. I remember there being another, far better one, but lost the adress.

I would say save up for your Krawk.

And the Rainbow Pool has been updated, so there's no need to go to an outside source :)

Have you considered going through a Krawk Transmogrification Potion or morphing potion, then painting plushie? (or are those broken like the Draik ones were?) They're still expensive, but at least there's a lot more on the market. {shrugs}
Edit: nevermind. Getting a Krawk petpet, painting it plushie, and then growing it is MUCH less expensive.

Is it?
Krawk Petpet + Plushie Paintbrush = 8.5 mil + 6 mil = 14.5 mil (from what I can see)
Potion + Brush = 7 mil + 6 mil = 13 mil (again, from what I can see)
I would need to know the potion worked, of course.
Or am I missing something here? See, you don't play for a year and a half or so, and you forget everything you knew  .

Edit: Oops: there is indeed such a thing as a difference in price between petpet and regular brushes - indeed.
So the colour the Krawk petpet is painted definitely transfers to the adult Krawk?

Far as I've heard, it does transfer to the adult Krawk, so long as the adult Krawk can be painted such.

Not sure if the potions are still working or not (can someone confirm if the Krawk potions were fixed or not?), but I know for a while, they made it so that Draik potions could only be used on Draiks. We had a long thread about the stupidity of doing that somewhere a whiles back. I'll try and find it.
Edit: Here it is: Update on Morphing Potions debacle

not sure about the potions but to the best of my knowledge the painted petpet would be the color you painted it (as long as available for krawk pets). I'm darn near positive this was an editorial question not all that long ago BUT i have dial up so looking for it would take me HOURS.

Thanks. Great to know this. I have a petpet plushie brush left from the advent calendar, so for an extra 1.5 mil, I will have a Plushie Krawk, without having to go through the process of buying a Plushie Brush.
Trying very hard to ignore the fact that my current bank balance is only about 130k  .

Um... but wouldn't it be wiser to buy the lab map first? I was under the impression that it's one of the things that inflates insanely quickly. And after customisation was introduced (so you get to keep the paintbrush clothes of your lab rats) the price literally skyrocketed.

BTW, how much is the whole map now? I remember buying my map for somewhere between 500 and 600k nearly a year ago. Could have been cheaper, but I was too lazy to search for individual pieces and bought the whole set in one trading post lot, which is always slightly more pricey.

I think the average price of a full lab map is somewhere between 750 and 800k? Honestly, I don't believe it can go much higher as that is the TP price cap. You can't sell a full map on the auctions and so you'd get into a fuzzy area of 800k + ETS items.

I would definitely go for the krawk first as those will inflate more and more as time goes on while RE and Tarla keep the lab map somewhat in check. If you don't have the tool bar yet, I would suggest downloading it if you can. When I went for my third map Tarla had given out 5 pieces which obviously cut my cost a lot.

And also when it comes to your third mystery plushie pet, look for morphing potions. Even if your pet is already the correct species, 90% of the time the potion will save you millions of np rather than buying the brush.

It seems the full map is going for just a little over a mill right now... It inflated quite a bit again a few weeks ago. *eye roll* I'd buy the pieces seperately when you do buy it.
