On what was said a while ago about adult players being loners... I'm not a loner. I have a great social life, actually rather popular if I do say so myself (no jokes on me saying so myself ^_^). Mostly it's because I don't subscribe to predisposed definitions of cool, and if I like it, I do it, despite what people say.

...it could also be that I don't let people know I play neopets...

I've even gotten several friends hooked on it, which is a surprise because one of them plays ps2, and now he's hooked.

As for the glitches... what exactly happens? (in a technical computery sense) that causes our losses? I can't access my SDB right now but if something happens to the little trinkets of affection my gf bought for me...

I guess that ties in too with what was said earlier. It's not so much the worth of the item as it is the meaning of it. I couldn't care less if I lost my rarest items... just let that Bottle of Love be there!

I don't think Blackwing meant to offend any one when he said a lot of older players seemed to be loners. It is a game that is basically played alone--unlike board games, some video games, team sports--so a person is somewhat isolated and "alone." You are sitting by yourself at a computer--no one is interacting with you in a real-life sort of way. I honestly don't think he meant that any of us were "losers."

Actually, if I had a choice, I prefer to be alone for a good portion of time. You would never know it if you met me in person because I can talk the arm and leg off of a complete stranger and am downright "bubbly." In almost all of the jobs that I had, I was the glue that held a group of co-workers together.

But, I enjoy solitude and being able to do things alone--like Neo, reading, my scrapbooking. It is nice to escape the hustle and bustle and busy-ness of the world and not have to smile and be friendly with everyone all of the the time.
