same here - lab map hasn't done anything for my pet in ages- just changed the gender and gave it -2 strength- nothing as exciting as it used to be

that was a day to remember........many people lost valuable items .....and after that incident.....quite a number of the veteran players packed up and left Neopets....it must have been a blow to ppl who lost items...i lost 2 codestones but that was nothing compared to ppl who lost pbs, rare weapons, books,foods..............

I wish they would just move the old server to the new one -- all at once, just to get it over with. Even if it takes up to week.

Oh, I remember that glitch. I lost a set of codestones. About three days after the Neoquest 2 prizes were gaven out, the trading post was overloaded with requests. Someone was offering a Ramtor's Spellbook for 600k. I put my bid down, lost and never got my NP back. When I contacted the owner, she pointed me towards the IDB, a bunch of people had lost NP form that too. All together, the seven known bidders lost about 4.2million NP all together.

The nice thing about the owner of the spellbook was that she gave the 600k back to the person who she accepted it from. So, someone was able to break even.

My whole family knows that I am crazy over neopets. My sister and my brother-in law gaves me weird looks. None of my friends knows that I am playing. I tried to introduce neopets to another crazy friend of mine, she signed up, play for a day and forgot her username. *sign*

I'm sorry.......nobody plays neopets in my family......although i know plenty of adults who play the game including myself...the guild i'm has quite a number of adults...am glad at least there are ppl older than me playing........

I lost about 200K in items and nps--but there were people who lost millions and millions. I'll never forget sirhatter's topic on it. He was the one who told us PPTers what had actually happened. That the server handling the TP had basically fried--which was why they had no backup info to rely upon. He said that he had a friend who had lost 23 million due to it. I will always remember that number because at the time, I realized that it made my 200K seem somewhat insignificant and not to be cried over (too much).

And, a few days later, it was almost as if Neo tried to make it up to me (I had filed a bug report and then wrote a staffer begging them to take it down because people were continuing to lose things): I got a silver PB and 15,000 at the fruit machine, a codestone and faerie from Tombola, and 25K on the wheel--all in 5 minutes time. Maybe it was coincidence but it had never happened before and has never happened again.

On the lab ray deal - I zapped my mutant usul and it turned into a skeith; gag. Then it turned into a Green usul. Adoption. Then I got a baby poogle and decided to zap another pet. Most recently it turned my christmas flotsam into a white flotsam. It also changed gender once.

lab ray hasn't done squat for my pet........its either changing its gender or dropping its level.....why.......and many negative stuff.......

for people that mentioned that they could at least have told us that it was gonna be down if they knew they were transferring servers, they might be thinking that if they publicise that the site is down it will reduce their advertising power and they won't get so much money from their sponsors. this way it's not planned, and if they dont mention it it never happened...

sorry, i'm getting pessamistic. none of my friends are around, and i'm bored out of my mind!!! anyway, i need to go and get some clothes from my house, i'll probably be back in a couple of hours hoping the site's back up

edit: the lab ray has done nothing for me either i've had 2 colour changes and thats it, and they havent been interesting ones (pink and purple). i wonder if the time of day you go influences the chance of getting a good zap, is this possible, or not?

Random question: I'm trying to get a good score on snowmuncher... will I be able to send it when (if) the site comes back up?

Depends, sometimes they don't update the version of the game on the down for matinence page, and if the version isn't the same as the current, then no, you won't be able to

These stories about those old glitches are scaring me! If I truly lose everything in my SDB and my neohome disappears forever, I'm not sure I'll have the gumption to keep playing! It just seems quite unfair; I don't have a lot of faith in TNT restoring things because after two weeks (not a long time, I know) I still have not been able to get them to restore my book list on 2 pets that just disappeared. I spent lots of nps on those darn books!

I share this acct w/my 12 year old son who got me into it. His old acct got frozen (his fault - he stupidly had an offensive phrase in his lookup. He learned a lesson, believe me). Anyway, when his acct got frozen and he lost his robot jetsam he was devastated, as any 12 year old would be. He had 200k in his bank too. To try and cheer him up, I started this acct and had amassed enough np's to get him the baby paintbrush he always wanted before I told him about it. So he finally got back into playing neopets. Now we both play on the acct because I got addicted along the way! I'd like to start my own account but I'm afraid we'd both get frozen.

Anyway, I'm freaked out hearing these old stories because if the stuff isn't restored, my 12 year old will lose ALL FAITH in neopets, having lost everything twice now!

I will sit here quietly and cross my fingers.
