You have given Plushie Island Paintbrush to User 'twinklyspangle'. Click the button below to continue.

EDIT:
"And, besides, the chances of you being able to get that painted pet back from the new owner are next to impossible, even if the person who adopted it is nice enough to put it back in the pound again so you can adopt it. Unless you have both accounts open on the same computer, most likely you will not get the timing down to the exact second and a third party will intercept the pet--leaving both of you disappointed and a totally new owner to deal with."

Its not that hard... I've recieved many pets from transfers and the people aren't next to me. My jetsam for example. And even using neomail and the boards I have. I mean, as long as you are a quick typer, have the adoption link, know when to time the transfer, know when to say to be ready to refresh, and if possible use AIM or MSN messanger, usually you actually end up with that pet. Obviously, there is a risk but saying its next to impossible is totally wrong.

Pets that aren't painted, sure--and pets without expensive petpets attached, sure. But a painted pet with an expensive petpet attached, I still say unlikely.

Tested made this fabulous set for me!!! Isn't it great?

I'll have to disagree. I've transfered a Darigan Zafara, Halloween Cybunny, Halloween Ixi, Island Quiggle, Orange Grundo, and Striped Gelert with no problem. And I did all of these with someone on IM.

It's very easy. You get the Adopt a Pet quick URL, and as SOON as you click the last button to abandon, (it always says the same thing each time) you tell the person to refresh. They refresh. Voila. The pet is in your account. To be safe, they can even refresh before you start clicking the buttons.

First, that is assuming that the person who intercepted the transfer has aim and is willing to give you their aim name. Personally, I wouldn't give that info to a total stranger. Second, extremely risky with a 55K petpet attached. If a person intercepts a transfer of a painted pet with no petpet attached and is contacted nicely about it, the person might give it back to you. But if an expensive petpet is attached to it, the person probably was pound surfing and adopted the pet for the sole reason to resell the petpet.

I've actually found I've lost more pets transferring them between accounts on my own than I have when I've co-ordinated the abandoning and adopting with someone else *nodds* I think the advantage of two people is you don't have to worry about an additional browser or alternatively logging-into the second account in the middle of the process. Its all really about timing and either way there are risks involved!

Ummm...no. Painted pets. Probably about 15-30+ when I used to have my adoption agency in my guild. And some had really good stats too. It really isn't that hard! Lol!

Ok, sorry. I don't get what you're trying to say at all. I was talking about transfering painted pets, and you're talking about petpets.

But if we are talking about petpets, having an expensive petpet is hardly even a risk. If you know how to transfer, the person who is pound surfing won't even have time to copy and paste the name into the searchbar to look for the petpet before you have transfered the pet successfully.

Transfering a pet is very easy if you know how to do it.

I refreshed 2 hours earlier then a ppt member put an Asparagus Chia in the pound...
And I got it.

That's true.. but I recently lost my GREEN elephante with a mature gruslen petpet attached when I put it in pound.. someone else actually got it.. I have no idea how they do it.. o_O Me and my friend being quite.. uh.. "experienced" with transferring pets actually lost that pet.. an unpainted one at that. It was for sure less than 1 second between me dropping into the pound and her intercepting.. since we both are on cable connections.

I have no idea how a pound sitter, can check up that GREEN elephante, see that it has a gruslen petpet and adopt the pet UNDER 1 second. o__O

Why do I say it's the work of a pound sitter? He got the pet, promptly tore off the mature gruslen and dumped the elephante back :x

I have however seen a number of people lose basic pets with petpets such as Gruslens attached to them when they've been chatting on the AC Board beforehand. I suppose what happens is someone sees it while talking (perhaps even about a trade) and then sits in the Pound refreshing for the pet! Talking about placing a pet in the Pound in a tranfer and actually having that pet in your account can make things a lot riskier!

I never talk about my pets on any board.. if I do I move it to my side account first.. I mainly lurk in the chat boards.. but I don't post lol. I am paranoid on how people know anything about me, especially on the boards.

I gathered the only possible way is that the someone knew my habits and knew I was going to pound it into my other account.. or transfer to a friend.. and has been refreshing there since forever.. it's just scary thought.. :o

Here's my solution if you have the choice of doing it alone.
As soon as the pet is abandoned, click on submit in the Login wondow(you must have the password and security code entered beforehand). Then click on the button on the Adopt window(the pet's name must also be entered beforehand).
I won't guaruntee it is 100% foolproof, but it probably will increase your chances of getting it right. And it is best to have a fast connection to the internet.

I know a better method. Have two diferent browsers open (I used internet explorer for mac and mozilla) Have the account with the pet logged in on one browser, and the recieving account logged in on another. Then have the adopt link open in the recieving one above the one with the pet in. Then as soon as you click the adandon button the last time quickly hit refresh in the other browser! Then you should have it. Obviously you need to make sure you have enough np, less than 4 pets ect ect and the name spelled exactly right.

I've never lost a pet this way.
Apart from one time when I had the wrong link open. Doh! :D

Hope you get it back twinkly.
I'm working on making an orange grundo myself, I'll probably pass him about but I'm not botherd if he gets lost.

I agree with Morningstar. I think that the new people shouldn't be harrassed for adopting pets. Don't give up your pets, you only have yourself to blame. Send one neomail, politely asking, be fair in what you offer, if they so no, deal with it, wish them luck, and move on.

As far as blaming Neopets for enticing people to do it to get an avatar, well let me say this. What sense of accomplishment do you guys get from 'borrowing' for avs versus earning avs? A pet av is a reward for those that enjoy those pets. If you absolutely insist on having an av for a pet you obviously don't care to have, you can buy any pet on here you want with potions, etc. I completely disagree with blaming Neopets for it.
