For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

I agree. It does sound like fun!
I had figured I wouldn't be missing out on much since sign ups weren't supposed to end until much later this week, but yeah. I will probably post very little until Sunday, as I'll be out of town, and I'm not sure how good the hotel internet will be. Just so yall know...

I was here when Xyzzy gave the go-ahead to post, but since no one else had posted, and I am/was scared of messing up the game, I decided not to. Here's my two cents though. I would like to know how to start accusing on the first day. I can do it randomly, right?
Tanner! You evil jerk!

Random bandwagon. Just so you know, I despise games with no innocent roles, but the room concept is interesting enough to make this sort of fun.

Wow. To be honest, I expected about ten pages of posts when I checked in, and to find only two was quite a surprise.

Anyways. Just so you all know, I will be at a camp on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I apologize for this -- I thought the game would be mostly over when the camp came around. D:
Holding my vote until tomorrow. So I can at least make a halfway sensible one, even if it is the first day. hehe.

You smashed the barrowdowns with mafiascum eh Xyzzy?
This looks like it should be a lot of fun. I will comment and throw accusations around tomorrow.

My role stinks. No, for real this time.

This game will be... different to say the least. Holding my vote for now, I suppose we should wait a bit before executing someone since discussion and rooms is the only way we have to find the killers. By the way, what happens if we get to day 14?
Wed Jun 20, 2007 1:50 pm
This'll be odd.
How many rooms are there? Did it ever say? If there is an unlimited amount, it'd be sort of impossible for us not to catch the killers. XD

Whee, I'm here. It's going to be hard to keep my fingers off the edit button, maybe I should just cut them off now.
The game will be interesting, I've seen some like this at some poker forum. And Barrowdowns! That's where I saw the paper telephone game

Wait if we can't edit posts, does that constitute double posts?
Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:52 pm
Tanner, buttface. I didn't vote you!
I don't even know if we can really do anything until someone dies. But then again, it was the same basic concept in normal WW too, wasn't it.

Yes, you can double post. Got permission form Ammer about... oh, a month ago. Thought I'd mentioned that.
Usually the best way to start out day one is to throw random accusations until you notice trends; persons A, B, C, and D are all voting for person E, so ask person D why they jumped on the bandwagon.
Some terminology, etc.:
FoS: Finger of suspicion. This is any easy way to say "J00 are teh ebil" when you already have a vote on someone else.
OMGUS: OMG, you suck! If someone votes for you in retaliation for you voting for them, and often a way the baddies hide.
EBWOP: Edit by way of post. Since no editing is allowed, this is an easy way to add something you missed.
IGMEOY: I've got my eye on you. Used if something is slightly strange, to show that they'd best be careful if they don't want your vote.
LyLo: Lynch or lose. Thus is a situation where the baddies will gain equal or greater numbers and win if you lynch the wrong person; for instance, if there are 3 scum and 4 townies, mislynching will result in 3 scum and 2 townies the next day.
QFT: Quoted for truthness. If you agree with someone, this is a quick way to say so.
WIFOM: Wine in front of me. This is a reference to the film The Princess Bride; an example: there are two suspicious people. It's possible that one of them is scum, and the other is town, or that they're both scum. From the towns perspective, scum wants to get townspeople lynched, but from the scum's perspective, it may make more sense to lynch thier partner so that they look better to the town, so should the town trust him? Whether or not the town will trust him if he kills his partner depends on the town, so the scum must consider what their likely reaction is, while the town must figure out what he thinks they'd do if he's scum, and so on.
Bussing: when a scum player votes for one of his partners to try and get them lynched.

Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
Good to see we can double post, I was wondering about that.
