I got so annoyed at TnT when they introduced the ranking system and how you could see how many goals and matches you've won at the last minute! :x
I htought I had hundreds of wins under my belt and then I saw i wasnt even close! It really dud push my buttons.,........so far I'm only rank 2 and I wanted to get the top rank so badly.....

There's always next year!

Am I the only person that lobs the slow balls (like that darn ice ball) at my own goal to get more goals per game? It's also fun to watch the crowd jeer at you when you score on your own team.

Before I started doing this, I averaged around 4 goals per game. 4-0, actually. Now I get 9-2 or so. I started doing this because I was so darn tired of my fast computer and that ball slowing me down. I score really well with all the other balls. I'd spend forever trying to score with it, and just threw it at my own goal to be rid of it, but it turned into a regular thing.

I wish I would have paid more attention to teams when I signed up...It's so unmotivating when your team loses all the time. I've actually become quite good at this game (a shocker for me...I stunk at the beginning of the season) and it stinky that my team sucks... :(

I've gotten 87 wins on YYB and I'm only rank 1. x.x

I've read somewhere on the boards that 50 wins up until rank 5 will up your rank, and after that it's 100 wins. But I'm not too sure, so don't quote me on that.

Since I'm terrible at Yooyu ball, I don't have much of a strategy. The only ball I can ever score with is Fairy. :)

Anyway, I was bored this morning and posted this on another site, which isn't nearly as good as the PPT. I figure over here it will get some laughs (and more people chiming in). Yes, I picked on all the teams that I could. Even my dear Shenkuu.

I like teams to have names, rather than refer to the land of origin. It's amusing to rename the teams with good names and Funny names. ~:>

Yeah...I'm not too sure about that myself. I've ha 83 wins and I'm still a beginner...

I love posting in color. But its curious about the ranking. I'm level one and hardly played any Yooyu Ball. (MSN is MUCH easier to sneak when you're supposed to be doing real work.
Level 1
Goals Scored 15
Number of Wins 7
Number of Draws 0
Number of Losses 3
Slushie Slinger
Games Played 37
Make Some Noise
Games Played 643

I am really surprised to hear some people having a real problem with the Darigan Ball.

Moving Horizontally (left or right) -- Ball goes straight forward from where you face.
Moving Vertically (up or down) -- Ball goes straight back from where you face.
Moving Vertically -- Ball goes vertically from where you face.

Well, I do, sort of...

It takes around five tries for me to get the Darigan Ball into the goal, whilst only one or two for the rest [~3 for snow]....

Hence the reason that I usually give up, and let the time run out after an encounter with the Darigan Ball....makes the game less frustrating that way.

Whee! PPT is back AND Roo beat Krawk on Yooyuball! (Okay, so we drew on the other two games, but still, the Yooyuball was the important one!) If you count all win points, Roo, Krawk, and Darigan now all have 27pts.

For ranks, this site seems to be pretty accurate so far:
http://www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=biggirl123_6_6

I'm not 100% sure - some people are saying that Slushie is only worth 1/4 a point per game instead of 1/3, so there's no telling. I should be midway through rank 7 when our scores are updated tomorrow - I've been putting in a fair number of games for Roo, and most of 'em have been 9's (I think my average is like, 8.45 or something if you take the total number of points and divide by wins).

I do *not* like what has happened to the mutant ball. I wish it would just act mutant, not like all the other balls randomly. Drove me nuts when it started doing that a few days back.

Oh, yes, I totally agree about the mutant ball being evil. But at least I've developed a strategy to score consistently with the Darigan ball! (Irony here, my sister is playing for Darigan and yet can't score with the Darigan ball.)

right now, I'm having to take an extended break from y2b, but when I was playing, only ball that would constantly irk me was the Clockwork and Snow. Too slow, hard to score.

Did anyone else's Number of Wins didn't update since yesterday? It say I've won 256 times, but it should be more then that. I hope it's not a glitch and that I haven't spend hours playing yooyuball for nothing :x

Edit: Nevermind. TNT is still in the progress of updates points :)

I wonder what everyone thinks of the win ranks. They seem a little bit steep to me. Even if I play an hour a day for all 30 days of the double round robin, I'll only be able to get to rank 9 (lowest bronze shield). You'd probably have to play for around 3 hours a day, every day to get the top shield...

Oh i hate the darigan ball so much! I actually just grab it and score it into my own goal just so then I wont waste too much time trying to score a goal with it.........I've now devised a strategy to get that 1000 wins ranking, but its going to be soooooo boring!
I have to win 150 games a day for the next 6 days so then I can get the 1000 win ranking. Hopefully I wont die in front of my computer(though there is an extremely high chance of it!)
Let the boredom begin........ ~:>

ROO ISLAND PWNS THE PIRATES. *happydance* You realise this means RI is the only team left undefeated at Yooyuball? :) (Of course now I've said that we'll be hammered by Meridell, but...)

I'm not doing too great in the personal score stakes - only rank 2 with 109 wins. 516 goals still feels like a whole lot alongside a full-time job. :/

If I get a Darigan ball really early in the game I chuck it in my own goal - the time it normally takes to score with the darn thing isn't worth it. Or if I get a faerie ball and the goalie is too fast for me to get a run-past by him. I have no problem with snow balls though - I just position one player in front of the goal, have another player pass to them from above or below and then just nudge it quickly in. With the extra kick it moves fast enough to reach the goal line before the goalie.

Yes, but this can only help you get it in the goal if you're shooting straight horizontally at the goal. How on earth do you get the defenders out of the way for a straight shot? I can only score with Darigan by judging the diagonal, which is hit and miss.
