Now that it seems all the knee-jerk responses have settled slightly: a few things I've noticed now that I've been browsing a bit.

Hey, all of you who said you disliked the Games Room redesign - you have it your way now! No more primary colors, yay!

I'd like to be able to click on one of the buttons on the top and be brought directly to the first page in the list. Right now, I have to pause for a moment, which is slightly unnecessary.

Now that there's more space on the bottom, can we have a sidebar/theme selector there?

The premium site-in-portal is really badly buggy. I think they might have flipped a boolean backwards or something - the ads turn on (or at least the spaces for them) when you turn site-in-portal on.

Tell me about. I had a custom image up for my user lookup, now look at it. { wiccan_wolf <--for those who are wondering }

The new layout and costumise option do need a little bit of tweaking here and there. It would be nice if we could get rid of some of the "modules" and be able to click on the explore without having to open a new menu first.

But in all I'm quite happy with the new layout.

I'll get over the fact that I need to recode my gallery. It will give me something to do next week

Also, I wonder what this "lenny library" in pet central is.

That is great! This whole new look is confusing, userlookups are messed up,
(thankfully I didn't have one to speak of), and this will all take some getting used too.

The only thing I know is:

Those pets in my account AREN'T the pets that I made.
They are REALLY ugly and a WANT my pets back.

I know that feeling. Only pet on my look up, that looks decent/normal is Etebul. Though I must say, I do like the way the Lupe's stand

Hey...did anyone notice the new daily on the front page? It asks a question and if you get it right, you get 250 nps...that's cool

As for the design, no one throw stones, I like it. I think it's a good step in the right direction. The site was so 90's before and I'm glad they updated. It'll take some time to get used to the new navagation and such, but I think after a while, people will get used to it and we won't be complaining anymore.

I'm reminded of when the game room was updated. So many people complained and complained, but I haven't heard any complaints since then.

Are there any working clothings yet? I bought a ton of clothings back before all this, but I don't know if any of them will work.

I hate it too. I clicked on a random link to a Neopets page today and thought "Whaaaaaaaaaaa?" My pets look terrible, too. My Faerie Uni's wings are black!

When I click on any pet, it says "ERROR : This Neopet name has been deemed inappropriate." It forwards me to this http://neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?flashtest=failed. I saw someone else posted earlier in the thread... I'm using Firefox and dial-up, maybe it has something to do with that.

Anybody tried those new clothes added on the last pet day?

Yes, I'm pretty sure we all read the new features. Given that the new features DIDN'T say we'd be allowed to de-cusomtize our pets next week, it doesn't really make me feel better. If they actually were planning on letting us do that, why wouldn't they just say so? Or better yet, INTRODUCE this feature along with everything else?

I find it especially irritating that there don't appear to be any actual wearable clothes yet. Couldn't have waited to introduce the system until they had some actual things to wear, could they? No, that wouldn't be Neopets' style. I wonder if they'll ever actually get around to it, or if they'll just leave us with butt-ugly pets we can't even customize?

Well, funnily enough, the reason some people painted their pets a certain species or color is that they WANTED their pets to be a certain species and color.

And not being forced into a revamped image appears to be a grandfather thing. IE, if I had painted my Peophin Faerie yesterday, I could have kept the old, cool, Faerie Peophin image. If I paint it today, I'll be stuck with the new, inferior one.

Not that I'm bitter.

I'm not freaking out over the site revamp too much, but I totally cannot find my way about at all. I've been with Neo for 6 years now, so I'm totally thrown off by this.

They've forced the redraws on three of my pets, thankfully leaving my faerie Kougra alone. Although my aisha looks...horrific, really, I was planning to on changing her species eventually. The Lupe, I quite like and the Usul is my lab rat, so...

I only had a picture on my lookup, but you can barely see it now. I feel awful for those who spend ages on theirs. And the shops and galleries are the same? That's even worse.

All that said...I have no idea what I'm doing. I have no idea where to click and I'm so confused. Cheers, TNT.

90s? The site was made in late 99, it's not like it was retro. I loved it for being the only site on the internet that hadn't gone overboard with clutter and fancy rubbish. I guess if you're used to a page filled to the brim with information and flashy graphics it might look outdated. The thing is though, it worked. This is like stepping into rave when you've just woken up.

I'm all for easy on the eyes. This site resembles too many other sites now.
