Why do you doubt it? The Cup took place at the same time last year. Unless you're talking about the "mutant world".

It would be so funny if they had a baby team. Go BABY!
It was either the Haunted Woods or the Darigan team that had a mutant pet...though now that I think about it, that doesn't make much sense (since both worlds have their own paintbrushes).
Most neglected land is by far Kreludor. I mean, it was all set to have a plot and a TCG Expansion Set and everything, then that stupid Usul took its plot.
Although I agree that Kreludor is pretty damn neglected, I think Virtupets is MORE neglected, simply because its been around longer and hasn't really had any standout moments. That's not to say that Kreludor ISN'T neglected.

I wonder if they would do a new kind of mutant world, where pets look like a mixture of two different pets? That is, you could have a fat and bunchy spotted aisha looking thing, only it has a mane like a cybunny and ears like one? Or maybe have a grundo with a shell like a bori or something? Sort of like every pet has a bit of another pet's charactoristics? That would be interesting.

Neither the space station nor Kreludor have ever had anything to do with mutants. Sloth's empire has shifted distinctly towards a robot theme since his introduction.
Mutants ARE associated with the Haunted woods, but I don't think there was a mutant pet on the haunted woods or Darigan teams. You're probably thinking of a Halloween or Darigan pet that just sort of looks mutant.

Closest thing to a mutant on any of the teams is the big grundo on Virtupets team, and when you get right down to it, mutant grundo's aren't even used as mutants in neopian lore. They're just treated as big grundos, never associated with the "creepy" side of neopets.

Sloth's minions are supposed to be mutant grundos, so supposedly it was Sloth who created the transmogrification potions. The neopedia article on Sloth also mentions mutant servants in passing. Robot pets are created by the lab ray, which was created by the mad scorchio, who isn't associated with Sloth or any villains. He's supposed to be mad, but not evil.

I can't remember anything that associates mutants with the Haunted Woods, unless you're refering to the potion in the plot. I don't believe that was supposed to be a transmogrification potion, however. It's effects were different.[/quote]

The old mutant chia, the one made out of slime, used to appear on the Haunted Woods map. And yvonne is right in that sloth is not responsible for the creation of robot pets. The Sloth drones and other unique robots are his, but not the pets.

Well, the Fetch game is located in the Haunted Woods, and that stars a mutant blumaroo..I'm not sure if that exactly links mutants to the Haunted Woods though..

This is very exciting. I've never played yooyu ball, I missed the cup thing entirely last year, so whatever comes I can't wait!

I forgot about that. Feed Florg is in Virtupets, so it looks like they are putting mutants in both worlds. Haunted Woods just had an interesting plot, however, and poor Virtupets still has nothing.

When the Haunted Woods were first introduced, yes, the old mutant chia and a few other mutants lived there. Mutant pets also inhabit the Haunted Woods in Neoquest and the TCG.
Some mutants are used as "spooky" characters and others are used in the science-fiction settings, depending on their look. It's rather disorganized.
And while Sloth is officially the creator of the transmogrification potions, he is never shown with any mutant minions other than Grundos.
