Maybe it's for residents of North America? Or maybe some really fancy IP tracker, I don't know.

TNT could have surpassed all the controversy and just given everyone Whack a Kass prizes. But sometimes they are just very dumb.

What the %#$%#$^@#$!!!!! :x
I cannot believe they made a sponsor game part of the challenge, that's just pure and utter BS. Urgghh. I spent some time since this thing started practicing whack a kass, and I was so happy yesterday when I was able to get a good enough score to beat AAA, and now I have to do this stupid ad game?

Oh, wait... the mimzy prize is worth more than the kass prize? Cool.

But I'm still PO'd on general principle, plus that's terribly unfair for the rest of the world. >.<

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. Still irritated by the Mimzy glitch.

In case anyone is curious, the double dare challenge is not like the world challenges where you can keep submitting scores even though you don't earn NP. :(

What I don't get is why they didn't just give out the same prizes for both games? Wouldn't that haven't solved most people's issues? Just my 2 cents...

(I'm much less annoyed now that the plushies have fallen from 15k)

I noticed though that changing the language on the site also seems to change the Daily Dare game (I live in the US so I had Mimzy by default, any other language changed it to Whack-A-Kass) o_O

Maybe they look at your IP adress? I have my country set to the US and I got Whack a kass.... o_O

Definitely. I have my country set to Azerbaijan so that I don't get the stupid Google thing, and I still got Mimzy. What's really annoying is that I had to turn off Adblock just to play the stupid game.

Hey, I'm at Azerbaijan, too!

I was really surprised to see mimzy, but then I remembered the whole Daily Dare thing is sponsored by Mimzy (and trix). Happy, because I've been using that game to get 3K a day, and I don't get W-A-Kass at all!

What is this crap?

I was looking forward to playing Whack a Kass, because it doesn't take very long to load or play, and right now I'm in a place that only has dial-up internet access. I expected to just challenge Abigail, get my prize, and be done in less than 15 minutes. Instead I get this friggin' sponsor game where if you choose a low-res version (I had to, higher up wouldn't load), the pictures look EXACTLY THE SAME: blurry. Thank you, whoever posted guides, because otherwise I would've gone blind staring at pixels all night.

I don't care if the prize is cuter. I don't care if I'm better at this game than the one I was expecting. I don't liked being forced to play a sponsor game. And I don't like that I got something different than the rest of the world. I don't care what the rationale is; it's not fair to them.

Up until now I was enjoying this challenge. This just ruined it for me.

i get a dumb windsock after finally beating AAA 1 time and people in the us get a good looking plushies. way to go TNT, why not just give people living in the US, a free fountain faerie pass every month.

I completely agree..
All I got was a stupid windsock. Pfft..
I'd much rather have the plushie.

And Sandmaster, they did have the Sultans quest which was for Canada only, but that's because they had the Movie Mountain which was for the US only! (Plus, Sultans quest sucked anyways..)

Plus, both of those things were completely sponsor related. I don't think there are too many people who care that they do different sponsor related games and activities based on where you live. The problem here is that they injected sponsor material in what was a site related event like any other plot, puzzle, or contest. I certainly don't want to see the next plot feature any sponsor related material. Advertising their own products like games and toys don't count.

Ugghhh, yes. Amen to everything Rakumel and Huggles said. I hate advertisements and I can't stand having them shoved in my face.

I realize neopets has to have ads to make money and remain a free site (unless you decide to get premium). I don't mind that they have ads on every page, because I can block them. I don't mind the sponsor games themselves, I usually don't play them except once to add to my game scores for the top gamer av, and on rare occasions I find one that is quick and easy for me to make some NP. Other than that they are easy to ignore.

I don't mind the little "sponsored by blah de blah" things, because they are usually small and unobtrusive.

But when sponsor things start creeping into big site events like this, it just makes me go eeeww. This is taking advertising too far, and once you start going down that road....

Sun Mar 18, 2007 5:13 am

The advertisements don't bother me at all. Of course, so long as the site isn't just advertisement, advertisement, advertisement, then I've no big complaints.

Plus, I have no right to complain because I got the plushie and this challenge was ridiculously easy. :D

"Big site events like this"? This seems more like something just to tide over to the next real big event. It's not like this is a plot or anything.

Though, there's a different sort of point there - has anyone else noticed that there's been a new game (mostly from sponsors) every day for the past week and a half? (Plus, there's two more games already in the "newest releases" list that are further up, "Wheel of Slime" and "Septimus Heap: Jenna's Escape".) There seems to be a lot of Viacom stuff in there (half?) - I'm hoping Viacom isn't trying to turn Neopets into free advertising for their own products, since there'd probably be too many ads to fit! But there doesn't seem to be enough Viacom stuff for to pin it all on them - unless they're pushing for more revenue. :/
