SSBB = Super Smash Brothers Brawl
To all of those interested in joining, there are no sign ups. You can just start playing right off the bat. If you need additional help, I am here most of the time and more than willing to try to help as much as possible.

Story as of now:

Team Sephiroth is standing off to the side. Captain Falcon looks itching to fight.
Capt Falcon: Come on! We should be out there kicking butt!
Beatrix: Keep your pants on.
Capt Falcon: Please!
Beatrix: I meant literally, but you should still calm down. We’ll strike when the time is right.
Marth: The key to victory is knowing your enemy’s weaknesses.
Beatrix: No. Timing. Once your opponent is to tired to fight back, the victory is in your hands.
Marth: If you know their weaknesses, very little effort is needed for a quick victory.
Beatrix: Glares. Timing!
Marth: Snarls Weaknesses!
Beatrix and Marth look as if they are about to fight then instantly back down.
Beatrix: You are quite right.
Marth: As are you.
Marth and Beatrix go back to analyzing the other characters. Captain Falcon glares at Marth, thinking he is moving in on his love.
Deoxys: Seems to roll his eyes. Humans...

Snake is slinking through an air vent. Meta Knight is hiding in a garbage can. The Dark Trooper is standing in the hallway looking for them. It is scanning in every direction. It looks directly at Meta Knight and starts advancing...
Emeralda: Look mommy! A giant robot!
Adult Emeralda runs up and starts jumping around the Dark Trooper. Elly calmly follows.
Elly: No, no. This is one of the bad guys. We’ll come back later with our Gears.
Emeralda: Yay! Smashing things.
Emeralda runs a hand over the Dark Trooper as she walks away. The Dark Trooper starts following Emeralda and Elly.
Pit: Stop right there.
The Dark Trooper turns and Light Arrow barely misses its head.
Pit: It was a fun chase, but I am tired of running. We end this now!
Pit splits his bow into twin daggers. Snake drops from the vent with his gun drawn. Meta Knight leaps from the garbage can with Master drawn. The Dark Trooper scans the attackers and readies its weapons.

0500/1700 Rule: Regardless of when the last update occurred, you may make actions after 5AM/PM your time zone. There is no need to wait for an update to make an action, but it is recommended. Any actions that break this rule will not count as a legal action and will be promptly (eventually) pointed out. If you miss one of the posting periods, you will not get an extra move. I will allow posts +5 minutes in so you don’t have to rush your action.

Specials follow the same format where appropriate.

Specials and weapons should be used before regular attacks can be used.

Special users can defeat one 1 or 2 HP NPC of their choice in addition to their special use (meaning without targeting the NPC with the special).

Super Smash Attacks (SSA): SSA actions are powerful, character-specific moves with special effects. They can only be activated two ways and usually involve the character being removed from the game (see below) for a short time. The SSA use counter does not reset until all characters have used their SSA. To activate: either use a Smash Emblem or buy it with some points. They may not be ready at the start of the game, but I’ll finish them as soon as possible.

Removed from the Game (RFG): Unlike in Magic: The Gathering, this is not a permanent effect. Characters removed from the game cannot attack or heal but cannot be targeted. They return to play after a set amount of rounds. At least three characters will remain in play at all times.

Special Character - Gogo: Due to Gogo’s unique nature, I will post his information every round. If there are any questions, PM me, and I will willingly help.
Gogo cannot attack or heal. He is active every round. He has only one special which he uses every round.
Special: Mime: *Gogo copies the last action done (the post above this use). *Gogo’s user may choose new targets. *If a special was used, Gogo receives -3 damage in addition to the special’s effects. *Cannot mime SSAs or actions in the GM’s posts. *Cannot be the first action of the round. *If Gogo is not used, he automatically heals for +1 HP each round, but he starts with 30 HP at the beginning of the game. *He counts as male for gender related contests.

Castlevania: +30 - Vampire Slayer - Characters can automatically defeat two NPCs with 1, 2, or 3 HP or defeat one 4 or 5 HP NPC in addition any other actions this round
Deep Space 9ers: +50 - Reflective Shields - All attacks directed at the members are reflected back to the attackers. Members can still attack
Dream Land: +20 - Skill Copy - Members may use any special belonging to any [Faction] member. (Check character guide or with the GM for specials)
Hyrule: +90 points - Magic Sack - Members may use any weapon unlimited times (weapon changes user after each use unless user can do unlimited attacks) (Check item guide or with the GM for items)
Independent: +0 - None (duh, they have no team)
Kongo Jungle: +20 - Monkey Friends - When a member is attacked, the attacker receives a -1 damage counterattack for every -2 damage dealt to member (counterattack is rounded down)
Mushroom Kingdom: +50 - Mega Mushroom - All members deal double damage for the rest of the round, but cannot use weapons. Negative side effects are doubled for members
Pokémon: +50 - Pokeball - A random, unused Pokeball is activated. Members are immune to the effects
Sephiroth: +50 - Summon Sephiroth - Either: a Guard Armor or Dark Trooper appear; or Sephiroth appears for the round and deals up to -20 damage distributed among the remaining characters.
Sonic: +60 - Hyper Sonic Speed - Members cannot be attacked for the rest of the round. Members may still attack.
Square Enix: +160 points - Job Change - Members may use any Dressphere that is currently not being used (Check Dressphere guide or with the GM for Dresspheres). Counts as a weapon action
Versus: +70 - Versus: Adrenaline Rush - Members may make unlimited actions. Special users may use their special twice (any given player may only use the special once)

Round 6 Announcements:
1: Brackets? Not yet! As a special treat, all seventy (!) characters are Active for the entirety of the first week! (Only two [technically three] rounds left!)
2: I added a line to Gogo’s Mime to better match my original intent with him.
3: I have a fun idea for the Pokeball contests this game, although I may do a few like last game’s since they were occasionally fun.
4: Get some Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits. They are yummy!
5: Three day weekend! Runs around in glee.
6: I fixed some of Gogo’s use and added bullets for the important points.
7: In a last piece of sad news, the following former players are on notice: Sirclucky, endeavourl, Icey/Divine, Rauven and Ryan. They have amassed some points but have walked away without warning. In order to maintain their good names (and points), they must make at least a weeks worth of plays, 7 rounds, with at least three rounds consecutively. They have until the end of this week to make one action or notify me of their refusal to play before their points are reclaimed by the game and used on the remaining players.
8: Couple notes on the above: a) Ryan will be given a little leeway since he was quite active for a time. (Meaning he might not lose his points). b) I know Blk Mage only flits in and out, but he has been at least semi-regular since the first game. c) Stinkyllama will be only an occasional player for this whole year. She would like to be as regular as she has been but will be unable to play too often. Her points will remain intact as long as she is semi-regular.

1 Freezie: -4 damage to one character. Target cannot be attacked or take actions for the rest of the round. Cannot target special users.

Aerith rolls seven and deals -2 damage to a Koopa Troopa. The remaining Koopa Troopa bite Cloud for -1 damage. Falco wipes the Kirby slobber from himself and returns to the battle. Reno rides out to the field carrying a medium-sized weapon.
Munro: How did you get the Pokeball cannon?
Reno: The boss is investigating something and wanted me to fill in for him.
Munro: An investigation? Of what? Where?
Reno: Yep. HE wanted ME to have the Pokeball cannon this round.
Munro: A Dark Trooper in the arena!? That was my target.
Reno: That means I get to choose who to give the prize to...
Munro: I have to go!
Munro runs off after hitting his combadge. Reno rides over to Yuna.
Reno: Hey baby. If you play your cards right, you could get the Pokeball.
Yuna: Hey Ramza! A judge on a chocobo!
Ramza screams in fear. That startles the chocobo that screeches and bucks. Reno drops to the ground. When he hits, Reno accidently fires the Pokeball cannon in a near vertical trajectory. Reno looks up to see the Pokeball falling at 9.8 m/s^2.
Reno: Uh oh.

Snake, Meta Knight, and Pit are standing over the hulk of a sparking and smoldering Dark Trooper. The GM and Rufus are picking over the remains of the droid.
GM: Amazing. You three defeated this all on your own? And in one round?
Snake: Not to shabby.
Pit: We kicked its butt!
Meta Knight: It was a worthy opponent.
GM: We are in your debt for ridding us of this menace.
Rufus: This looks like the one that has been wondering the halls for the past week. Munro will be upset that you got it before he could.
Snake: We’re just lucky.
Snake tries posing but slips and cuts his hand a little on some of the wreckage.
Pit: Careful.
Snake: I am fine.
GM: How did you manage to defeat the Dark Trooper? It must have been an epic battle.
Snake: It was nothing! What happened was...

Kongo Jungle: +20 - Monkey Friends - When a member is attacked, the attacker receives a -1 damage counterattack for every -2 damage dealt to member (counterattack is rounded down)
Mushroom Kingdom: +50 - Mega Mushroom - All members deal double damage for the rest of the round, but cannot use weapons. Negative side effects are doubled for members
Pokémon: +50 - Pokeball - A random, unused Pokeball is activated. Members are immune to the effects
Sephiroth: +50 - Summon Sephiroth - Either: a Guard Armor or Dark Trooper appear; or Sephiroth appears for the round and deals up to -20 damage distributed among the remaining characters.
Sonic: +60 - Hyper Sonic Speed - Members cannot be attacked for the rest of the round. Members may still attack.
Square Enix: +160 points - Job Change - Members may use any Dressphere that is currently not being used (Check Dressphere guide or with the GM for Dresspheres). Counts as a weapon action

Round 7 Announcements:
1: Brackets? Not yet! As a special treat, all seventy (!) characters are Active for the entirety of the first week! (Last [technically not] round!)
2: Wow! More people going after the NPCs like I hoped would happen last game :D That makes me feel warm and fuzzy and makes me release one of the trickier NPC pairs.
3: Reno’s original hitting on Yuna line was a little more than borderline PG-13 and was dropped out of fear of censorship.
4: Little bit of Pokeball info for new players. Pokeballs are usually the only item of the round. You have to do a fun little task to even get your entry recognized. You have to pick a character, but the character can still be used. The available Pokeballs are listed right below the Point listings.
5: Additionally, I put added notes on announcement number 7, even if it breaks continuity :P
6: Original Star Trek and TNG is the best way to spend a weekend.
7: You get to write part of the story! That is my new Pokeball idea :P All I need is a few sentences about your idea.
8: Last chance for any of the below to be fixed. Sorry, but it has to be done.
9: In a last piece of sad news, the following former players are on notice: Sirclucky, endeavourl, Icey/Divine, Rauven and Ryan. They have amassed some points but have walked away without warning. In order to maintain their good names (and points), they must make at least a weeks worth of plays, 7 rounds, with at least three rounds consecutively. They have until the end of this week to make one action or notify me of their refusal to play before their points are reclaimed by the game and used on the remaining players.
10: Couple notes on the above: a) Ryan will be given a little leeway since he was quite active for a time. (Meaning he might not lose his points). b) I know Blk Mage only flits in and out, but he has been at least semi-regular since the first game. c) Stinkyllama will be only an occasional player for this whole year. She would like to be as regular as she has been but will be unable to play too often. Her points will remain intact as long as she is semi-regular.
