[[Technically, any kind of magic can be used. Mages are born with a natural tendency toward a few types, but they can learn anything. A time mage could be interesting, though.
And as long as the Red Mage in question isn't above average in more than at most one area, it's assumed they'll have a variety of skills. And they have to have all kinds of silly plans to help their friends that don't work. And guidebooks. Lots of guidebooks.]]

Jeroyva walked out of the building and stared at the warrior. He didn't recognize him. Unusual. He recognized nearly every major military commander on both sides, and this guy was definitely something big.
The warrior shouted, "You! What is your name?" He pointed a thick finger at Jeroyva.
"My name is Jeroyva. Why are you here? You're clearly trying to hurt somebody." He had slowly realized that too many people would notice something if he killed the mage. He would have to gain his trust, but he questioned his mission. Every word of his story had been true, except for his claiming to be uninvolved. That... would have to change.
"I am General Thorn, the scourge of darkness. And I have come to kill the geomancer. He's in league with the enemy, if my scouts were telling the truth." What scouts? Who was this guy?
"I'm not familiar with you," replied Jeroyva. "And I know generals from both sides. But you... are you new, some recruit from the mine colony?"
The general spat on the dirt. "I'm no Warrior General, those scum. I'm... I'm the leader of the Dark Rebellion. Do you know what the Dark Blade is, child?"
Jeroyva recognized the name. A group of Dark Knights and Black Mages formed the secretive Dark Rebellion cult. Apparently, they sacrificed their own strength for unspeakably powerful results.
Hopefully he wasn't as strong as he claimed.

Hikaru had followed Jerovya out, being snoopy and had been listening in on their conversation, guessing correctly that the professer was listening as well.

Her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the knight, but she showed no other sign of fear.
"Hello, sir." She said pleasantly. "How may I help you? The professer is out right now." Casually, she pulled the boy back by his shirt.

She suspected that the knight's position wasn't as high as he said he was, as the higher people of the Dark cult wouldn't have bothered talking to anyone, just go in and barge in, killing anything in their way. But either way, any one of the Dark Blade was to be treated with cautiousness.
Hopefully, the cult knew nothing of Hikaru. That would cause trouble.

As Jeroyva was pulled back by Hikaru, he put his hand in his pocket. There was a dagger below his hand. As the four of them talked, he looked around, and did a few mental calculations.
"I'm here on regular business. I'd like to find someone who could forge me a sword. I was thinking mythril." The knight grunted.
Then, Jeroyva lept over, diving toward the Dark Knight. He pulled out his dagger, and the Knight prepared to swing his own sword. But Jeroyva wasn't trying to kill. He swung his legs over, and quickly slashed his dagger across the sword, putting all his force into the hit, which came unexpected. He caught the blade with his own and ripped it out. It flew several feet, going just over Hikaru's head.
"No, sir, I must disagree. You came here to take someone's life, and you were intercepted because there were more people here than you expected. Isn't that true?" Jeroyva stepped back as he spoke.
"Well, that doesn't matter much," replied the knight, "when I can simply fight with a new sword!" He ran into the house, knocking over the old man, and ran out, holding an old sword.
Again, hopefully he wasn't as skilled as he claimed.

<<Changed profile a bit. Shouldn't be much of a problem and not a anything really important.
Wait, if the professer is outside, there's no point of saying he's out.... Is he or not? And also a name for him would be nice :D>>

Hikaru had half expected, but was half very surprised, at Jerovya's move. Instinctively, she ducked as the sword flew over her head.

"Professer, is that sword important?" She asked urgently.
"It can always be remade." The old man replied, shaking his head.

The sword started melting from the tip, turning a bright red and began to lose it's shape. Flames licked the hilt and threatened to burn the knight's hands if he held on any longer. The second the sword hit the ground, the flames disapeared to leave a cooling blob of metal.
"Wise choice." Hikaru informed him, and dodged just in time to miss a ball of black fire that was directed at her head. She whirled around to see a mage and what seemed like a fighter standing there, the mage still having his hand raised from his attack. There was one more mage hiding, she could feel the aura, but she wasn't sure if there were any others.

"It seems you can't do anything right, General Thorn." The mage smirked at the so called general. The knight blanched, or seemed to, of what could be seen of his face. His leg twitched, but he seemed to think better of attacking the mage.

"Are there any more warrior type people?" She hissed to Jerovya. He would most probably know. So would the professer, but unfortunately there was the Dark Knight in between them.
Magic, she could handle, but knives........
And now they were out numbered.

[[We could call him Bob. :D Maybe he'll tell his name after the battle. Woo.]]

This could be better. Of course, the Professor had detroyed the sword, but numbers were getting bad. The Professor and Jeroyva could hold off the attacks for a while, but-
A surge of lightning suddenly approached Jeroyva. He lept up, and saw the Black Mage preparing to cast another bolt. At least they knew his strengths, and thus, his weaknesses.
The Professor saw it too. Lightning, and Dark magic. Obvious choices, but against this group at least, they had an advantage. The Professor had created an artificial pond for this reason; Lightning and water repelled each other, so the mage would take much more damage from it. It was bright outside, too: that helped with the Dark situation. He raised his hands and drew energy from the sun and pond, and formed a concentrated beam, which he shot at the mage just as he turned around.
The fighter jumped into a tree, and pointed his sword at Jeroyva. "You'll be the next one!" he shouted, as he lept toward Jeroyva. Jeroyva instinctively fell, rolled over, and dodged the blade. He got up to his feet and grabbed the sword, which had slid out of the fighter's hand. "You'd be better with a knife!" taunted Jeroyva, as he threw the blade into the beam of light which the Professor had created. The darkness in the blade evaporated and it became a regular sword. Still dangerous, though.
As the Professor continued to shoot beams at the mage, he finally fell, and the hidden mage jumped out from a shadow. It was a white mage named Aris; specifically, one of the Magus Generals. She had left the Mage Army several weeks before and joined the Dark Blade. This was definitely an important battle, then; Aris was the only healer in the cult.
The cult would be really mad if she left this battle dead.

<<Go>>

Hikaru bit her lip. The enemy seemed to be ignoring her, which was fine with her as it gave her time to think, and plan a little. What were they attacking the professer for? It didn't take her any time to realize the obvious. The professer's main magic type was geomancy, plus to that he could create and repair weapons. He would be a very useful tool, providing they got him to listen to him.
She gasped when the other mage jumped out. Aris! Why was.... she in the cult? Although she had disliked the woman, she had still had some respect for her.
A flash caught her eye. It was Thorn. He seemed to have retrieved his sword in the ruckus and was swiftly heading toward the old man.

When she tried to move over, something bright flashed by her with startling speed. She looked toward the source. It was Aris, forcing her with more balls of light to move over to where Jerovya was. The white mage was obviously trying to hit what she thought was the weaker of the group in one go. Unfortunately for the mage, she didn't think Jerovya was weak and Hikaru wasn't going to go down easily.
"Have any plans?" she asked Jerovya casually, quickly sheiding them with a see through ring of fire, large enough for the boy to move around as he fought.
The fighter did seem to have more weapons on hand, but she ignored him. The boy would deal with him.
It wasn't that she wasn't strong, magic-wise, but she had never compared herself with a Magus general before. Well, she thought grimly, let's see how long I'll hold out. She lessened the shield around them, and left just enough so that the mage's attacks wouldn't bother Jerovya.

"Why did you join the Dark Blade?" Hikaru asked Aris, high kicking an attacking ball of light so that it flew straight up and returned to attack it's owner, then sent a disk of fire which ingulfed another.
Hikaru gritted her teeth. She could keep up well enough to defend herself, but could barely keep up a steady attack.

Jeroyva stopped for a second, then spoke. "Do I have any plans? ...Now I do." He ran around the ring, faster as he went. He held out the sword which the fighter had dropped. "Professor!" he shouted, as if to suggest that the PRofessor should be doing something. The professor nodded, and pointed a finger toward the sword. It turned bright red and orange in the flame. The fire concentrated itself into the sword, creating a steel flame knife out of the weak flame sword.
Aris shot a beam of life at her dying comrade. "I joined Dark Blade," she began, "because I'm like all of you. I hate this war. We all hatye this war. But what are any of you doing about it? We're merely... forcibly stopping battles. Isn't that more noble than complaining about the problem?"
The general stared at the knife in Jeroyva's hand. It was an excellent skill, forging weapons. They would have to take it. He held out a hand to the warrior. The warrior placed his own hand on the generals. "The real power of the Dark Blade," explained the general as darkness took over the two bodies, "is in the fusion of two opposite energies for one ultimate strength." Indeed, the two were becoming one. He looked at Jeroyva, and said, "You! With the knife! You'll be the first, not because I take pity on a mage, or a worthless pile of old bones, but because of another potential fusion, with your blade."
Jeroyva laughed. "Does magical fusion destroy intelligent speech, or have you always been than stupid when you talk?" But, of course, there was no time for jokes. He jumped out of the ring of fire, and ran toward the general, dodging the dark beams. As he neared the professor, one hit him. It wasn't strong enough to do real damage, but it knocked him down. The general walked over, picked up the knife, and held it over Jeroyva. "Never mind," said the general. "I'm going to kill you first because you mocked me!"

((The last post said "Go ahead and attack Hikaru if you want." I mean the enemy, not Jerovya........))

Swiftly making a sword out of fire and what ever element that was plentiful around her, Hikaru jumped in front of the boy just in time to meet the blade. A moment later, she roughly pushed aside, but it had given Jerovya enough time to scramble away.
I better have improved with the sword as my teacher says, she growled in her mind.
"Yes......... it would be." She informed the general, standing up. "But by forcibly stopping you've killed as many people, innocent people, as much as the war has." And it's not like we're just complaining about it, she added silently, although she did not bother to correct the mage out loud.
"Are you crazy?"Her voice began to rise. "You, Aris, should know what a dangerous thing darkness is. As long as you can control it, it is powerful. You guys are going past the limit." And I'm going past my limit of what shouldn't be said. Well, at least it stopped the general's attack for a while. And anger is like darkness. If you know how to use it properly. you have the upper hand.
And you guys are stupid. If you want swords limitlessly I still don't see why you don't kidnap the professer. Or me or the boy, to make him make swords. Well I just hope you don't do either.

Both Hikaru and Jeroyva saw shining and blinding light on the horizon. The path leading west was changing...the gravel on it was turning a more polished shade, making it semi-transparent. The thriving grasses on either side suddenly changed into a rich emerald green. Hikaru could sense someone with great power was coming. But this time, more powerful than Aris.
The pond nearby had subtly changed to a clearer and more darker blued water. The sense of a naturally slow but increasingly noticeable change in both ambience and environment got both Thorn and Aris to panic slightly. For no one has ever been so unwise as to run from Aetha-Athrys.
With a simple bow from Aris to Aetha-Athrys, she turned to teleport. Aris noticed the general...and his look of wanting to attack. Aris screamed,"NO!" just as General Thorn thrust at Aetha-Athrys. "You fool!"
As the general turned slightly to look at Aris in confusion, Aetha-Athrys simply lifted her hand to the general's face who froze in shock and paralysis. Aetha-Athrys looked at Jeroyva's face serenely with her white hair streaked in earth and water colors. Her robe was a pure white that was almost as blinding to looko at as it was the sun.
"Please Aetha, he does not know. Let him go." Came Aris' voice.
"After all the trouble he caused me...even lifting a hand to stop him..."
"Please."
With a sigh, Aetha-Athrys let him go. Aris cloaked him and they disappeared...The professor looked at Aetha-Athrys which was returned by a calm smile.
"And how have you been, Nerun?"

*if you want to change the profs name, say so! xD*

Jeroyva watched as the blade came down... only to be stopped by Hikaru's blade?!? Not a normal mage at all; though, no one in this company was normal.
A shining light came over the hill. Not too unusual, but who was it? Surely the Dark Blade didn't have reinforcements! It wasn't, it turned out. It was a mage. A very old mage: Aetha-Athrys, or Ai as the youngest of the islanders called her. He'd never met her; she was supposedly a great leader, but everyone assumed her power bred arrogance, so they avoided her. [[Ender Wiggin!]] Now they would find out if the rumors were true. If they were, she wouldn't last, unless she changed. Jeroyva's mission had changed; his previous target was now his ally. If the rumor of this girl were true, she would have to prove that, too. He didn't doubt her; he hadn't met her. But like the Professor, like Hikaru, like Aris or Thorn, he would be wary.
Thorn, of course, would have to die. He was too great a threat; on his own he was weak, but he was too strong otherwise. Jeroyva walked into the house while the others stared at the glimmering light. He looked around. There. He found what he was looking for. He picked up a large bow, and took an arrow out of the quiver. He placed it in the bow, and pulled back on the twine. He walked outside to see Ai, Thorn, and Aris talking. He pointed the arrow at Thorn's chest and let his fingers off the string.
Thorn turned around just as the arrow left the bow, and reacting quickly, the body of the warrior left his own, and the arrow hit the warrior, killing him instantly. Thorn yelled out. "Time for that one to die!" He lunged toward Aris, and grabbed her hand. Wispy dark smoke spread over the two arms. Thorn, now fully fused, would have to die, but not without seperating the two.

Before Jeroyva could take his plan another step further, Ai looked down to his eyes which were still young. Jeroyva could see age and knowledge in her eyes...Perhaps those rumours weren't true-that people created it just because she grasped so much power.
"No, let them be. Next time they are of disturbance, you can interfere. Right now, there is a greater war and many lives at stake. You must listen to my words, even if I do not have your trust," Aetha said calmly, voice almost like music."You shield it well, but your plans are predictable...I know who you are. Who you are allied with. Killing Thorn will not help your plans, but endanger them. Jeroyva, you are still young, but are wise. You must consider what I've said to you."
Ai turned to face the fused peoples of Aris and Thorn,"I will give one warning. Interfere with the zae and you mean to destroy your life. Begone."

[[Err, you're beginning to godmod...]]

Jeroyva's emotions fought each other. This girl claimed to know more about him, but he was changing. His alliances had changed; if she had come hours earlier, she would be correct, but he was a different person. She... she seemed like the rumors suggested. Arrogant, but not aware of it. She could be trusted, but like this, she couldn't be liked.
And there was so much she didn't understand, because she couldn't see everything. He wasn't going to kill Thorn, not until Aris left him; that would defeat his purpose, but she believed that was his plan.
Thorn stared at the group. "I guess that means you don't want to kill me. Very well; I don't mind letting people live. My purpose in this war is to end ruthless killing. None of you can deny that." He walked off, putting his sword in his sheath. He threw back Jeroyva's knife.

-O_O SORRY bout that!-

Muttering words to herself, Aetha-Athrys turned to the path facing east and continued walking with her staff. She had more important matters to tend to for the time being. As the pond and grass faded back to its original hue, so did the bright glow. Ai walked slowly, though her appearance looked as if she were still a young teenager, she was still 107. She knew that she wasn't wanted where she had just been. Brushing it off, she set to reach the White Council by dusk. There she would finally sit down after long years of travelling, where she could discuss matters with mages only as wise as her. And could feel clean for once.
