Ok, here's my info. The room I have been using is a lit room with exits at top and bottom.
If you have not gotten the event, pay VERY close attention to where the mirror's feet are at the bottom of the screen. The floor has a wide u-shape or v-shape with a dot in the middle. The mirror's left foot should be between the dot and the left side of the v.
I have not bothered trying in other rooms.
