Villain eh. Looks like an evil earth faerie to me. <3

Edit: Is it just me does it look like the Court Dancer is at the gypsy camp?

I think that's part of it. They didn't need to...and they could have fixed their problems themselves if they'd worked hard at it...but when the eeeeevil Krawk shows up with his quick fix, they all pounce on it, but they will pay for their impatience! Bwahaha! Or something.

I'm definitely gettiing more of a Sleepy Hollow feel from it. I don't see Secret of NIMH in it at all. oO

Edit: Oh, new plot! I need to change my icon (as amusing as confused Tuan is)!

I remember in the olden days of neopets when we had to wait months.... sometimes a whole year to get a new plot! And we had to walk 50 neomiles to get each clue!

You young'ns have it easy!

Just once I'd like to see a plot where the cute pet is evil and the darigan pet is good. Something like that. I hate stereotyping, so I want to see examples of pets which don't fit what everyone assumes is the norm.

I second that! And on a related note, a peeve of mine is that certain pets are usually represented in one gender. Aishas and acaras usually get female roles, with Hoban being the one exception. The only lupe I can think of who wasn't a guy is one of the players on team Altador. I had thought we were getting somewhere with the player designs for the Altador cup, but one look at the characters in this plot and we're back to 'dog types = boys' and 'cat types = girls'.

Whine all you want about Usuls, but I see that there's yet ANOTHER Aisha and ANOTHER Lupe that appear to be either main or secondary characters in a plot. I'm far more tired of seeing them crop up constantly. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure they're probably the most popular pets and are included to appeal to wider audiences, blah blah blah, but come on. There's plenty of other species in Neopia to use. We all loved (to make fun of) the Foreman, so how about another Yurble? A Cybunny? An Eyrie? A Lenny? An Elephante? Or better yet, take smudge's suggestion and have a reptilian or amphibian hero at least once. Wouldn't mind seeing a Hissi or Nimmo take the lead, personally.

And I kinda wish they had come up with a slightly more creative name for the town than Neovia. But eh, oldish Neopia, makes sense, I can live with that. Okay, mini rant over. Won't bring either of those up again.

Other than that, wowzers. :) Looks like we're off to a good start, or at least an interesting one. (Heh, you'd think Ginny would know better than to wander aimlessly around the Haunted Woods on a dark and/or stormy night by now.) The comic art's great so far. And...well, just have to wait and see what this particular plot's going to be like.

On a side note, that was a relatively fast turnaround. I know Halloween's coming up soon and all, but I just hope TNT's ready - don't want the staff getting overly rushed and overworked again. Usually bad for them and us when that happens.

Ooh fun! I'm excited :)
New plot!!! <3

If anyone was paying attention to all the theories and speculation (here in another thread and on the Neoboards) then it wasn't a surprise that a Haunted Woods plot was coming.

The story is following the Haunted Woods TCG, so a war plot is a pretty sure bet.

I wonder if it will be a little of both or just a straight out battledome fight?

My mother said I never should
Play with the gypsies in the wood...

I'm really liking Ilere's look. And the idea of using a faerie that's not a dark faerie as a villain would be nice.
Bruno's transformation was probably subtle on purpose. He didn't want to be just handsome, he also wanted to be strong and confident.

The look of the story reminds me of The Corpse Bride, but that's just going on colors. And Kaebel, I think that's just a gypsy with a tambourine. Gypsies have those in stories, so it makes sense to put one in the background here.

Strangely enough, Aishas are 20th in the rankings for most popular pets, and Lupes are 4th. The top three pets are Shoyrus, Kougras, and Kacheeks, and we're not seeing too many of them in main roles.

I went back and compared images. The aisha I'm talking about looks a lot like the Court Dancer, but the hair is different. Maybe she has a sister? :P

I just thought it would be cool if other characters made little cameos in the background.

So has this been confirmed as a plot and simply a plot, as in, no fighting? From what I can take from the prologue, I don't know how on earth TNT would incorporate a war into the plot when really all we're doing is listening to a story about an Usul listening to a story. -_- What, will the monsters pop out from the past and wreak havoc on the Haunted Woods during Halloween? I dunno. I was hoping for a war, but a plot will be just fine if it's interesting.

I just HOPE that the PRIZES (LoL Typical ggagahc, thinking about prizes already when the darned thing just started) will be OFFTHECHAIN to make up for the horrendous prizes of the Altador Plot. C'mon, TNT, time to redeem yourself!

As for Ilere, she is an Earth Faerie, right? The wings are a dead giveaway to me.

Oh, and so far, has there been anything to do but read the comic? Just wondering.

Nothing has been confirmed, but going by TCG there is fighting.

Plots can be War, Puzzle or a mixture of both.

War plots do have comics - it fills in the story so we know "why" we are fighting. The comic may go for half a dozen chapters before anything else is known. Fighting will come when the storyline in the comic gets to that part. :)

Gilly - Usul, Reginald - Lupe >_<

Anyway @ stamp, I think Haunted Woods were already revamped

eh, it doesnt excite me at all..... more random characters showing up with new stories... i want to see returning characters, or things that interact with existing places... i dont know, it just doesnt excite me. Some people seem to think it's a western theme, and it most definetely isn't..... I suppose it's supposed to be somewhat of an 1800's London-theme... or the time from "Scrooge" or "Ickabod Crane"... thats the time period we are looking at.

So deep inside the woods theres an old abandoned town? ooooOOOOOooo thats ...... creative, to say at least. People drinking a potion to make themselves better.... maybe im just in a bad mood or something... i dont feel like im in a bad mood, but dear lord this bores me.

The usul reminds me of the little usul who used to take care of Mr. Scary.... maybe she IS the same usul?

i wish they'd make the stories with a different shaped comic - its a pain to have to keep scrolling up and down to read the different bits.
