Trekvid paced the outside of the camp. "We have to get going soon." He whispered to Felvil on one pass. Finally he could take it no longer. "That's it. Five minutes and we are leaving."
Felvil pulled him off to one side, out of earshot. "What is bothering you now?"
"I had a dream last night..." Trekvid said. Felvil blanched. He said nothing more and walked back into camp, urging everyone to hurry. Trekvid did not wait. He left, even though no one else was ready. He set off down the path again, not walking slowly at all.

There was a feeling of urgency in the air, so Hikaru speeded up. After making a last check that there was nothing forgotten, she tryed her best to keep up with everyone.
"Was there something not good in the kingdom, sir?" She asked Trekvid and Felvil either one who would answer her, panting a little. "Or at least worst than it already is." she added darkly.

Terra started in surprise, not expecting the armourer to react that way. "I am called Terra Ryn. I live a few days from the castle, and did not learn about the Prince's plight until after the rest of the group had left. I met up with the travellers and was sent back to obtain some weaponry..."
Her voice trailed off, as if she was uncertain of what to say next.

Trekvid looked over at Hikaru. "Weren't you paying attention when you signed up for this?" He said nothing more, increasing his speed. Felvil stayed in back of the group, making sure that none were left behind.
The armourer nodded. "I expected as much from ye. Ye'd be best t' nae go at all, but if'n ye feel that ye must..." His voice trailed off and he handed over the equipment. It was the same equipment that he had given Logarth.

Hikaru sighed inwardly. Her stomache was in knots.
"Yes, but worse than it was when we...er...'signed up', sir." She managed and gave up. Trekvid didn't look like he wanted to talk, and the look on his face told her that it was indeed worse.
She looked around at the landscape (without dropping her pace)and was comforted a little by it. Nature usually always comforted her.
She was used to walking reasonably fast, which left just a little extra ease, which made her think about their quest and the others, so she ended up feeling like a balloon of questions.

Orost quickly handed out the food and packed his stuff up. He kicked just enough dirt over the small cooking fire to make it go out and started running to chech up to the others. He was out of breath by the time he got there. He did a quick inventory of all his things and, seeing that everything was in order, steadied his pace. Orost looked at the haggard expression on Trekvid's face and thought it best not to ask. He examined his blacksmith's hammer, wondering what use it could be to him on this adventure.

Trekvid broke into a trot, prompting everyone else to follow suit. Felvil ushered those toward the rear to hurry, his face pale and his brow covered in sweat, something that had happened only once before in Felvil's ancient lifespan. He wiped the sweat away, unsure of what to do with it. He ran along, pushing the group to move faster than ever before. He bowled into Trekvid, who had stopped in his tracks. Felvil looked up to see a bear looming tall over the entire group. The bear roared, deafening everyone in the group and making them all suffer a temporary loss of one strength point. Trekvid and Felvil moved toward the back of the group, both baring their hands to heal the deep scars that would undoubtedly form on the faces and chests of the novice adventurers. They whispered encouragement to the adventurers, knowing that they would need much courage to fell this beast. Felvil looked at the beast, hoping against all hope that this fight would not draw the attention of the beast's mother. If that happened, Felvil and Trekvid would have no choice but to fight, something that they were not yet willing to do. The group was not yet ready to handle the sight of the power that they posessed. Felvil shot a questioning look at Trekvid. Trekvid shook his head. Felvil blanched again, the sweat beading off him. He hoped that no one would die that day.

Logarth noticed that the group started to quicken their pace, and he wanted to know what was wrong. He decided against asking anyone, however. Suddenly, he saw Trekvid and Felvil in front of a large bear, and they moved to the back of the group. They expect us to fight the bear by ourselves? Dear god, he thought to himself.
Despite being extremely scared, Logarth, who was near the back part of the group, managed to slowly bring his bow out, as well as two arrows. [i]I guess now's a better time than ever to try shooting multiple arrows,[i] he said to himself. He slowly raised the bow up and he managed to steady his shaking hands so he could aim for the bears eyes, hoping that each arrow pierced them. He again checked the wind, uttered a small prayer, and fired.

Hikaru stared at the bear in front of them, feeling faint. She sensed Trekvid and Felvil moving backwards, whispering encourgement. So, no help from the experts.
Swiftly, she readied her sling. It may not hit perfectly, but at least the beast could be distracted. She held it in such a way so that she could pull her sword out easily, although she thought, looking at the giant creature, it would have less effect than the sling. Then again, you never know....
Hikaru was lucky this time; they were standing on a path with a lot of medium sized stones.
The bear charged, and Hikaru let her rock fly.
Soon after the first she sent a second one flying, already ready for the next round.

Orost looked at the two trying to shoot the bear and laughed. He sounded a lot braver then he felt though. Orost gulped and charged in with his hammer raised. He hoped to hit it in the chest and knock the wind out of it then pummpe it with his hammer some. He had absolutely no confidnece that this would work, but it was worth a shot. He glanced at Trekvid and Felvil and saw taht they were in a healing stance, so he relaxed slightly.

Logarth's arrows went wide. One went far above the bear's left shoulder. The other struck the bear's left bottom paw, doing -3 damage. Hikaru's first sling hit the bear square on the chest, doing -3 damage. Her second one went flying high over the bear's right shoulder. Orost charged at the bear, and struck it square on the chest as well, doing -4 damage. The bear looked down at Orost and swiped with a claw, doing deep damage (-6), and sending Orost flying back against the feet of Felvil.

Hikaru saw Orost fly back, knocked out, and winced, but aimed again and fired.
What would be the thing's weaknesses?
Cats hate oranges, but even if there was some, she'd have no time to take it out. The paws? What would it help if they didn't get the lower paws...? Fire... The only person who could shoot it was Logarth.....
Her head was full of thoughts as she fired quickly, but carefully.
She realized the bear was getting closer. She threw (with sling...) the next with as much might as she could without missing, hoping that it would effect more, before reatreating a little.

Logarth saw that one arrow hit the bear, but not in the right place, and the other just flew off. Okay, think, think... Regular arrows can't do enough damage to the bear... Wait! I could light them on fire! But we don't have any fire here... he thought to himself, before grabbing three more arrows. He aimed again, this time at the bear's chest, hoping that maybe one or two of the arrows could be lucky enough to hit one of the paws again.
Before firing, he yelled at the group. "Hey! Can anyone light my arrows on fire?" he said, hoping that someone in the group would be able to do that. He fired the three arrows at the bear.

"Not arrows!" Hikaru yelled back. She ran backwards, shooting a couple of more rocks, to where Logarth was. She was glad he had thought of fire as well; there wouldn't have been any time to explain. Her hand dropped to her pouch; she always kept flint there. Oil or tar or anything..... She looked around desperately for something. She didn't want to take the chances but...
"Ok maybe arrows." she whispered and grabbed a few from Logarth, expertly lighting them but burning her fingers a little bit. She handed them one by one to Logarth, and whispered a prayer.
