All the stamps are gone in my album. In the user lookup the number is OK. But go to see your album .
You have a total of 0 stamps.
I'm sure they will be back . ? . Sure ? . I hope so

it sounds like the shops with the items and stuff, maybe, while you are waiting for the stamps to come back, don't hold your breath, and maybe send a bug report?
and i hope they do come back, i'm not a stamp collector, but its annoying to have any item you have worked for dissappear

Glitch after glitch after glitch--when will it end. I have two family members and a good friend who lost all of the items in their shops/galleries last night, I just lost a total of 4 purple neggs due to a glitch right before the site went down, and now I hear this.
I am starting to lose faith in Neopets--once again--and sooner or later, one of these glitches will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. It's just not a reliable game anymore--and I have trouble continuing to play it --extra careful to obey all of the hazy, unwritten rules when Neopets doesn't seem to abide by those same rules--Neopets is, in essence, "stealing" our items--without an apology or an offer to even think about returning them. Is that fair?

woah, morningstar, you lost item to glitches again? that's incredible bad luck for you and i feel sorry for your plight. i believe neopets is in the process of transferring data again because i can't access some player shops.

Yes, mystique, I am like a magnet to these glitches, probably because I do a lot of reselling and, therefore, move a lot of items around. But, I hope that I am also the thorn in Neopets' side. Every time I lose an item, I write a bug report and ask them why they have their policy of refusing to even look at their error messages in order to compensate the innocent users. And, my friend who just lost all items in his size 440+ gallery is thinking of reporting the Neopets Team as the "person" who stole all of the items from his shop.
The four neggs aren't worth as much to me as they would be to a new person or someone who only plays an hour or two a week--I can recover my lossess--but still they represent valuable time wasted on the game. And, think of the possibility--what if it had been an item worth 99999 or a trade worth ten times that?
I am sure I am not the only one to have been hit when the computer glitched--there are others out there that just don't have any place to vent their frustration--or don't realize they lost anything because they don't pay attention to how many of each item they have in their shop.

No, it's not fair that you blame Neopets for glitches. They don't cause the glitches to happen, they fix them. I'm so tired of people blaming the programmers for things that are inevitable on a website.
Sure, you lost items worth lots of time/money, but it's not fair for you to blame Neopets. They are not "stealing" your items just because a glitch happened to you and they aren't returning things that you lost to it. Can you imagine how many people loose items to glitches? And how many would lie and say that they have lost items? For Neopets to go through each case and check out who is being truthful and who is not, it would take them away from, oh I don't know, maybe fixing the glitch? Trying to prevent it from getting more serious.
Seriously... don't blame them for technological errors.

claudej, you're not the only one whos stamps have disappeared, on my userlookup it says I have my usual 123 stamps but looking at my Stamp Album Overview it says I have a very nice collection of 0. Looks like another one of those glitches that happened to the avatars and trophies, I guess they should appear again eventually!

I disagree. I'm not saying that TNT sits there and says, "Hmmm... what sort of glitch can we make today that will stress-out and upset all the users of our site?" but their track-record recently is less than perfect. When Neopets first started glitches were very few and very far between... Now it seems that glitches occur almost daily (sometimes more)! There are preventative measures that could be taken and more staff that could help solve unexpected problems would help the site infinitely and they don't need to wait for a glitch to fix it then either.

I know that it isn't entirely neopets fault. But that doesn't give them the license to not even apologise when there is a glitch.

claude, I just left the site, there have been alot of posts on the HD alone talking about missing stamps, along with everything else missing.
Shops/galleries, there are so many people who have been affected, some for over 48 hours of having nothing appearing in their shops, and their shop tills suddenly being empty.
Moogum, I respectfully disagree. These glitches are constant lately, people are losing way too much and there's no word on what's going on, not even something like a "we're moving databases" (again) type of message in the News which would at leaast be something.
Shop stock and tills are empty and have been, people are buying things and finding nothing in their inventory, but the np are taken, stamp collections now going missing, games aren't loading or not giving np or not sending the score and people are getting a database error, last spotted? some people have 4 or 5 days ago when they're posting on the site, the lag has been incredible for at least the last 4 days... I agree that they're not "stealing" anything, they're losing things.
And at this point it is serious. If the problem is this big, then maybe they should take the site down and fix it? At least let the members know there's a problem and it's being worked on? I think that's what gets to so many of us, the not knowing and feeling like we're not cared about.
Like the big security glitch - there are people who got everything back. Now if some people could get their items, np and pets back, why can't everyone? Sure, there are people who would try to lie and say they lost a sos or something, but those kinds of items, being rare, should be easier to check back-ups or logs. I understand not everyone can get every single thing back anytime there's a glitch, but there does seem to be a bit of favoritism in returning lost things to glitches.
Morningstar has knowledge of computer systems, so I'm sure she's well versed in the crazy things computers can do. I think we all know, just from our home computers, the things that can happen -- to err is human, to really mess things up requires a computer. So, we get that, we don't get why things are constantly messed up and seem to be getting worse, not better.

yeah, i read on the bd neochat that many players lost the item in their shops/gallery which is terrifying speaking from my stand as a gallery owner..
many of us have been playing for a long time to know that neopets never return glitched item unless you are that handful of privileged players. heh, i didn't even bother to email a glitch report to them when my 50 dubloon was swallowed up in a bottle of magic sand glitch but i came here to rant/grumble about it which achieved my objective.

Unless it's a hardware problem, glitches are programmer's mistakes.
Computers do exactly what the programmers are telling them to do. But you must know that typing a , instead of a . can change completely the instructions. It's so easy to mistype when you work under pressure when millions of users are waiting for you to solve a little problem. You solve one and you cause 2 new ones (if you're careless)

I REALLY hope that they come back, considering I spent over 10 million getting my 254 stamps

Sort of. But I haven't even got any of the av stamps yet. I was just bored one day and decided to fill my album. lol
Tue Jul 20, 2004 12:44 pm
lol that is one way of being bored
i'm just wondering, i think the stamps will be returned, it sounds most like the shop glitch where it says: username doesn't have a shop! but about items in general when they disappear, i have a friend with a paint brush gallery, and he lost a baby paint brush in that shop glitch which removed all your items, and he was not happy at losing it, especially since tnt didn't bother to return it, because it was involved with a glitch, and they couldn't say exactly what happened to it.
so while i understand tnt are human, and all computers occassionally have mistakes, and no program is exactly perfect, i think their player/tnt relationship thing needs a bit more specifying in terms of what they should do with this kind of dissappearing item glitch that seems to happen,
