Intermediate Curses (and likewise Beginners and Advanced Curses) does nothing to your pet's stats. I'm not sure if it is one of the scrolls that can backfire and give a disease. It didn't happen when I read one to Dibby.

So nothing happened? At all? Did you at least get an itell point from it?

Oh, yes of course. They're just normal books AFAIK. No special effect apart from the usual 1 or 2 point Intelligence increase.
