Taelia's quest's are the only ones that give decent prizes. =)
Um, no. That's not true.
Yes, she does give out decent prizes sometimes, sometimes she gives out really crappy ones (I've gotten TWO snowballs from her before, wish I'd thought to screenie that one), and occasionally she'll give out outstanding prizes. But Taelia is NOT the ONLY one who gives decent prizes.
Which brings me to the question Rubywinged asked a couple of posts ago. This is what works for me:
Esophagor, don't do the quest if ANY of the items he asks for are over 110 NP. More specifically, he always asks for Spooky Food, and a lot of those items are dirt cheap - but again, check the price of each item on the shop wiz if you're not sure. Eliv Thade items, Apple Ice Cream Lanterns, Candy Skulls, most of the newest spooky food, and Brain/Pumpkin/Slime Cream are all expensive, so if he asks for any of those, let the quest expire and try again later. (There's other expensive items, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.)
For the Kitchen Quests and Taelia, I try not to spend more than 3000 NP total per quest. (Sometimes the total comes to a bit more, like 3500 NP or something. If that happens, I'll do it anyway, if I'm in a daring mood.) Again, check the prices of each item on the shop wiz, just like you've been doing so far. Taelia's is slightly less risky to do, since she always rewards you with a snowball, an item, and anywhere from 1000-3000+ NP. The Kitchen Quests will reward you with only one thing: random stat increase on a random pet, an item, OR pure NP (I've never been given more than 1100 NP for a Kitchen Quest though, so be careful.)
Edna's quests I don't do anymore, despite the screenie up there. Getting something that valuable from her is very, very rare. Almost all the time, you'll only get Spooky food + 100-200 or so NP for your troubles. Oh yeah, and maybe an avatar. Which I would never ever use, because I never go on the Neoboards. So for me, doing those were kinda pointless
I should point out, though, that out of all the times I attempt to do a quest, I refuse to do them roughly half the time. Some days I don't get a do-able quest at all. It happens, it's normal, just let the expensive ones expire and keep trying. Eventually your persistence will pay off.

Hope that wasn't too much info. Good luck!
