My pet's just hit lvl 11 (thanks to Coltzan)... Previously I've been exclusively training him in the Academy... I don't really mind that it takes 5-6 hours, since I can put him in before I leave for school and take him out after. Now I'm considering switching to Training School because I read that past level 10 it's more cost effective that way... is that true? Could someone explain why?

His current stats are:
Agility : 12 (all from Coltzan)
Attack Strength : 20
Defence Strength : 20
Current hp: 30 / 20
Level : 11

Training school vs Academy: its not EXACTLY cheaper as all codestones cost more than even a two dubloon coin(which is what you'll need to train at the academy) , plus the type of dubloon you'll need to train per session is completely random and codestones price vary from one another the most expensive ones being the eo and main codestone while the cheapest is bri:-
main:6000np
eo :6000np
har :4000np
mau :4000np
zei :4020np
tai-kai:3933np
orn :4000np
vo :4149np
lu :4000np
bri :3150np
NOTE -all prices are shop wizard approximates.

BUT for people who seriously want to train an extra 1000np-3000np is worth it as it only takes only takes 2 hrs to train per stat as compared to the 6 hrs at the academy.BtW a two dubloon coin cost approx. 3100np.

In conclusion while the academy is cheaper , the training school is slightly more expensive but is TIME effective-hope this clears things up:)

Mystery Island is a great place to train quickly and pretty cheaply because you can train your hit points to 3x your level. If you do this properly, you can train more stats in each pay level before "graduating" to the next one. The most cost-effective training on MI is like this:

Level to 20 (one codestone)
Strength and Defence to 40
Hit Points to 60
Level to 40 (two codestones)
Str and Def to 80
HP to 120
Level to 80 (three codestones)
Str and Def to 160
HP to 200 (be careful here -- note that the next pay level starts 20 levels later, not 40 like before, so you can't train the max 3x)
Level to 100 (four codestones)
Str and Def to 200
HP to 240
Level to 120 (five codestones)
Str and Def to 240
HP to 300
Level to 150 (six codestones)
etc.

You could save some cash, probably, if you trained at Krawk Island for a while at first... but it's so much slower, and with them not having that "hit points to 3x level" rule, I don't know how much you're really saving. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd work out the math, but... ;)

NOTE that you may not want to go exactly to level 20, str/def 40, etc., because you want to be wary of super bonuses. If you're training that last hit point and a super bonus gives you 121 instead of 120, it throws everything off. So perhaps leave one or two stats untrained (go to level 19, str/def 38, HP 57) in case of a bonus, or a faerie quest or a kitchen quest or random event.

Whoa! :o Cranberry, I am so glad I read your comment about super bonuses and how that like could throw you off... I was just in the process of setting myself up for trouble! Now to go change up my training a bit!

good thing about mentioning superbonuses.. I've had that happen a few times.
