Hi

I'm quitting neopets, and I'm just wondering if you have ideas on how to get rid of 1500+ items without gettting carpal tunnel. Some of these items are quite nice. My current best idea is just quickstock donating them (70 at a time... :o ) around 10 p.m. NST. Any other ideas?

You can always keep them, putting your username and password in a safe place. If you ever want to play again in a few months or years ... you may have some real treasures waiting for you.

lol. Stampsyne, I know what would happen then; I'd come back. Even looking at my account items now (I'm putting them all in my items... pant devil bait lol) I really think they look pretty neat, but ... I know, in a very impersonal way that in all the time I've been accumulating them, I've slowly been coming closer to illiteracy/vampire skin/violin suckiness.

I hope that if I spend less time on neopets (read: no time), college will be a lot less stressful for me than high school has been! I have some wicked lofty aspirations and I'll need to work very very hard for the next 8-12 years... lol. So I want to really enjoy my last summer of total freedom for a a very long while by actually doing things... reading, going to the beach, practicing violin, spending time with friends before we all go our separate ways, I guess. So keeping my account is not an option; I think I've got a slightly obsessive personality! it's all or nothing.

I'd keep the items and pets for now. You might change your mind later and have lost everything. There's been a few times I've given up on Neopets for a while but never got rid of anything and since I'm back again, it turned out to be a good thing I didn't give everything away.

I kind of want to lose everything; even when I'm doing world challenges for hasee bounce, which I enjoy and do well on, I know I'm wasting my time.

:P Guys, I need to quit cold turkey. Although I figure, someone with more time could enjoy some of this stuff I've accumulated. It's a lot of junk, some 20ish codestones/faeries each, some paintbrushes and world challenge pieces, some expensiveish things. I know I need to leave as part of accomplishing real world things, lol.

I let myself keep playing neopets during 1st semester of senior year (college applications hell); I know I'll be terrible with it in college. I don't really want to log on to neo ever again, I think. Looking back, I get the impression that it's been sucking my soul out of my nose. which is not necessarily the case with others, just me. eh, I've decided. I'm terrible at time management.

You could consider 'donating' your items to the peeps on this forum or any other you are active in or neopets pals or something. I know someone did that quite recently. Putting all your items up for trade with like a '1 np' sign could work too ;P Or TNT might get suspicious and freeze you . . . but either way your account/items are gone, goal reached. :)

Set made by Moogie. Thanks for the wonderful work :)

if you are bad at time management, then good luck with quitting and with college :)

I plan to quit once I graduate. :)

If you're determined to give it all away, I can use some codestone and wouldn't mind the paintbrushes. :P I still think you should keep the stuff and just wait it out.

Well if you're desperate to give it all away then just have lots of fun donating it to people. Give some to the Money Tree, offer some 1 np auctions, send some to random PPT-er.... people... *shifty eyes*, bid some stuff on people's worthless junk (now that'd be a shock).

If you're really serious about leaving and giving it all away then it shouldn't be too hard!

Of course, if you're still unsure, just give some of the stuff away and leave yourself a... 're-starter' park :P Include a paintbrush, a codestone or two, any petpets/toys/food items you really like or value, that way if you change your mind you'll have something left.... :D

The err...'Support the Starvin' Chris' Foundation' Yeah...sounds good...made that up on the spot I did... is always looking out for 'donations'. Not that a few dozen paintbrushed or codestones or faeries will actually feed him...but it'll go a long way to pay administrative costs. Maybe.

Stuff!

I could do with a few items, codestones and things like that.
Since my main BD pet got pounded when I was hacked, I've been trying to train up a new pet to the same level, but its very expensive catching up on 4 years of work.

If you're feeling generous, send items to Arogance1 (not the pet though, he's not mine anymore)

What about self-freezing your account? There's still a chance you could get it back later if you wanted it, but it would be enough of a hassle that you wouldn't do it lightly.

Your time management skills will probably improve in college, and as you get better at juggling things, you might come to appreciate having something mindlessly fun to do. Then again, you could just rot your brain with tv like most people. ;)

What I did when I needed to work was to change my password to something totally random, that I didn't know and wouldn't remember - just random typing. Then, I logged myself out. That way, the only way I could access Neopets was if I requested it myself - a mental barrier. It was surprisingly effective, and I was able to visit whenever I felt I really needed to relax. Neopets, like anything, is good in moderation - half an hour a day is enough to relax you, or, just take a break. But I can tell you this - if you get rid of all your stuff, you will regret it at some point.
