I don't understand how your brain is supposed to keep up with all those keyboard commands. I'm using the mouse almost exclusively, with a very occasional press of Shift.
Me too. i've discovered that pressing space-right-space changes the focus to the keeper, but i'm not skilled enough to use that code
afyapardess: I've been playing that way too. It's not a bad way to win.
matchbow: if what you just said is true, I love you long time. That could make all the difference!
{EDIT}: just tested it, and it seems to be left, not right. That makes the combinations:
space left space =
space A space =
S A S =
S left S
All you qwerty users will love SAS, but us poor dvorak users suffer again! I can't even play whack-a-ghost, trouble at the national neopian, ....
{EDIT again}: I've tried it, it works... but I won't be trying too hard to use it because it's a bit tricky. Some new things I've noted:
Fire and ice are more different than I thought!
- Firstly, you can shoot with fire from very far away and still get a goal if you go for the sweet spot.
- Secondly, when you start off and they get possession, sometimes they'll pass straight back to their middle guy. He'll almost always pass back to the first guy. If it's an ice ball, you can intercept it and take the ball straight up the field for an unchallenged shot. If it's fire, though, you'll probably miss the intercept and they'll get a far-off shot on goal... which I've conceded a few times! :(
- So with fire, let the pass back happen, THEN take the ball.
When I said in my earlier post run straight at the goalmouth edge, that isn't quite right. You need to run at an imaginary point just outside of the post, as this brings the goalkeeper even further to one side, making a cross-the-mouth goal even likelier.
Also, I've scored quite a few times with faerie now. You need to aim further outside the posts, as if missing on purpose. Also, this seems to work better for me going bottom-to-top, rather than attacking from the top and aiming for bottom corner. When I've nailed this down a bit more I'll write up a newbie guides with pictures.
Why aren't people discussing more of this stuff? Seems like I'm the only one interested in talking strategy. Been waiting for someone to pick my last post apart and make better suggestions. :/
