Some one posted before that someone on the boards said that there were 13 different solutions. (I know this sounds like one of those a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend heard from her mother's second cousin kinda thing) but it makes sense. If there are many possible solutions, and they aren't just combination, but order then it would make it much harder. And thinking back to the punch club, it may be something that changes every hour or something. Ie, at 4:00 your correct solution is #25 and it takes you more than an hour to get to solution #25, so by the time you get to #25 your correct solution is #8 (which you've already tried).
((Has anyone won a couple days in a row at Tombola lately? I've gotten a codestone for the last three days or so.. along with REs. I think I've gotten five in the last three days. And I've gotten the same Trap thing at the deserted tomb.))

At least 15 different solutions have been posted so far. There are also 2 reports of the solution involving a sequence of switches and valves that had already been tried.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to the plot solution released by Neopets at the end. I really want to see how all of this worked - especially the water plant. My guess is that, out of the 256 combinations, everyone was randomly assigned one, although the fact that people have claimed to try every combination and not have it work sort of messes up my theory.
What I would be interested to know is if the finishing combination of water is the same for everyone - forgetting the levers. I know that, now I've finished (it took me five minutes - sorry guys! I feel for you!), I don't actually have much water on my screen. Maybe this is relevant?
There have been at least 4 reports of the water in the last 4 splits and they were different but tended to be here and there but not everywhere.

Why did the King Altador avvie come out? I was clicking around, having a grand old time, and ended up with it when I clicked on his statue! I know I've been really, really busy the last few weeks (I really hope the plot doesn't end while I'm gone... I'm getting married on Saturday and leaving for a little over a week!!) but did I really miss that?
n/m: found it in the older news, few weeks back. Wow... and here I thought I was diligently checking the site daily.
edited again: for clarity... wow, sleep would do me SO much good right now, it's almost funny

Congratulations!
Well TNT has said there will be a new plot in June so this one ends soon. My best guess is we still have a week before the next (last?) clue comes out. But I don't have enough plot experience to guess how long after that before the plot is closed.

I'm guessing it would be ended before the next plot - sort of obvious, I know, but I thought I may as well say it to contribute. So there is a two week window for the plot to finish. I guess the next clue will come out next week, TNT will give us a few days to finish, and then award prizes before June. Yay! Yay for prizes!

Yay for prizes, but I hope that the clue either comes out really soon, or right at the end of the month. I leave on the 23 for Russia and get back the 29 and I really want to be near a comp when it comes out! But, they probably will let a couple days go by before closing the plot.

yea that water thing was cheap (I am NOT whining) cause I left once and came right back and hit ONE valve and BOOM I was done. i was sitting here wityh a question mark over my head going what the heck. I've done that before exactly and now it works? cheapness :/ but I was glad I got it done thou!0 this plot is rather cool but annoying at the same time.

I have been literally in a lucid nightmareish sleep the past few nights over this. I can't believe I have one iota of strength left to try your method. May I ask what kind of a method this is? How it is ordered? Or isn't it?
Since clicking something on, then off, then back on again does *not* revert things back to that original state; AND since I can fiddle for hours (without flooding/resetting) and turn my dials back to how they were at my "begin" state, my water looks totally different than at my "begin" state.
To be honest, 256 "combinations" is not even "a lot" to me, especially after having clicked well over 1,000 times already. I just wish there were more of a clue to the sequence or aim of the puzzle. I wish TNT would simply say "this is the goal/aim" and then left us to our own demise.

I have a feeling they can't say that, because it is not true. And it is sadly "random" and there is no rhyme or reason to any of the water flow. And, I have to say it again: WATER PLANTS DO NOT WORK THIS WAY !!
Best of luck to WockyChocky and Wind and all others who are flooding Altador in their own tears more often than with the Water Plant.

I came off lucky... It took me maybe 3-4 minutes of random clicking for it to work, cause I flooded Altador and tried out one of the combinations that were said to work. And found the constellation in about ten seconds. I think the last constellation is going to be nearly impossible to complete, if second to last one is so hard...

Smile, there's a story that you will get more prize points the more difficult the water plant was for you (the more valves turned before you "win", the more points you get)
I had decided to quit this stupid plot, but gave it one more try... pow, it worked. (????) Sorry, no idea what I did, it just happened about 10-15 clicks after a flood. I did hit the archiver and astro club and yurble and necklace guard one more time for good look before I started. And I had been working on the "fiddle with switches 2,3,4 until it works" theory, but gave up on it and left the room to hit some valves. soon it was done.
Oh and I made up the "more points" story myself, but it's a good one, isn't it?

Hmmm, actually the prizes are most likely going to suck... I think the scoring system won't be so detailed like with the Lost Desert plot.
By the way, in a spur of autodestruction I accepted to help my sister doing the plot, so I'm turning wheels and levers again! Whee! Anubis Toxcology Report syndrome, andone?
It seems that you can achieve all the 256 combinations by changing one thing at a time, and that's probably what Atrus' links are doing... they let you pass systematically trough all the combinations. Honestly, since we have no clue about what we should do, anything goes. I've heard a lot of theories, and none that works in all the cases.
I checked the yurble's toenails too, but nothing there. I'm beginning to think it either is related to time as well as the position of levers. It shouldn't be 100% random though, since TNT never did a step of the plot based on sheer luck... or did they?

Seems the third try is the charm for me: I tried the random-click method last night, and eventually gave up.
Got home from work this evening, and tried the systematic 256 link thing posted by Altrus. Which didn't work.
Was frustrated, and began again the random-click method, and got it after roughly a dozen clicks. So my vote has to go with the 'random' method.
I do have a theory though. I have noticed in this plot, and in the previous one, that it seems my solutions to each step take longer and are more difficult than other people's. My stars seem to be mostly tiny white ones, instead of colored ones, and my constellations typically have alot of other random stars grouped around them. Anything like the gladiator, the tomb in the last plot, or this water plant thing seem to be almost impossible.
I wonder if the age of our accounts has something to do with how difficult each plot is for each of us. (Mine is in excess of six years old.)

You click on the stautues torso I think
there's a small spot for it. screenies coming.
thanks for responding, but i figured out the problem. i was in a side account of mine and forgot to log into my main one, which is where i'm doing the altador plot.
you can imagine my confusion when i entered the hall and it was pitch dark and i pushed the button and the janitor yelled at me..

I was wondering as I read throught the first msg.
I don't have the astronomy club. at least it's not in my inventory and not in my sdb, and I don't remember ever getting one though I've visited the club always after finding const. O_o
I've heard one could get the items back only by visiting the club again after for example having them stolen.
But well... as I've never had one am I still able to get one? and is it important to have one? ://

Very interesting theory, UsernameTwo... I have been clicking randomly in the water plant since the clue was out, and still haven't gotten it fixed yet, and my account is over 5 years old.
