Thanks for the great advice Cranberry! I knew that having a Lenny as a battle pet would be good as they have a species healer, but I didn't know what else to get for him. Having the expensive (and less expensive) options is nice...It gives me some sort of goal (which I'm currently lacking). Thanks again!

No problem. Oh, also, I forgot to tell you which abilities are good! The ones you should have are:

Burrow
Sink
Drain Life
Fiery Gaze or Diamond Dust (the dust is better)
Regeneration or Restore or Healing Vapour (they all heal 33% of lost HP)

Other good ones:

Quench (blocks all fire)
Boil/Water Breathing (blocks all water)
Steam Shield (blocks all light)

Diamond Dust simply gives higher percentage of freezing.

Nice advice cranberry, but my budget isn't that good at the moment. Also BFC is way too overpriced at the moment. I have Green Frost Cannon at the moment, also I need a healer, greater healing scroll is good enough.

Name : tweedledeeneoneo
Species : Acara
Agility : 61 (AWESOME (61))
Attack Strength : 109 (LEGENDARY (109))
Defence Strength : 10 (tough)
Current hp: 229 / 229
Level : 38

Current weapons:

Tiki Amulet
Downsize!
Green Scorchstone
Lost Desert Dagger
Illusens Earth Potion
Brain Tree Mace
Snowglobe Staff
Scarab Ring

(I only do one player BD)

I've been out for almost a year so my weapons are not up to date :(
I am willing to spend 500k in weapons and the rest of my money in training his level to keep up with the labs constant upping of hp, when that happens i'll get the next strength boost(i think it's 125) then on to defense... is a 1 mil enough for the stats?

I really should train myself to not get my hopes up with Neopets because I'll just end up falling harder on the ground... face first!

If you can't afford Hidden Tower items, there really aren't that many choices (even if you can afford HT items, there aren't many choices). There are a LOT of weapons out there, but most of them are crap... 5-iconers, weak r99 species weapons, overpriced 8-iconers, etc. I feel like I'm recommending the same few items over and over, but really, the items I see recommended most often at the IDB and the items everyone seems to be using are the same few things, because they're the most useful for the price. So if you want a mid-level set that's more offensively-minded (basically, a 1-player set), check out most of my posts since page 10, heh. I'm tired of writing it all out over and over. ;)

Ok I've read your post cranberry and they helped a lot, just one question, does GHS never really break even after a 100+ uses? Maybe those who got 100+ uses out of theirs are just really lucky? Can you please tell me that your 100% sure that GHS will never break? Cause if it does I'm selling my Green ss and buying one instead

I can't say I'm 100% sure it never breaks, but I can say that if it does, it's VERY rare. We had a thread on the GHS at the IDB forums, and not one person who posted in it had actually had theirs break. Some people had used it upwards of 200 times. And even if it does end up breaking for you after 100 or 200 uses, it's still only 30k to replace it. It's a great cheap healer. :)

I just need some idea of items to save for to build up my equipment. I'd say the limit is three million now, but the limit doesn't matter much. (It's just an idea) 1 player fights are all I do.

Right. I have been reading this thread for so long my eyes are starting to hurt and I need to start tidying my room and things like that. So, I decided to post and ask for some advice.

I am looking for a battle set that will cost me around 300K. I know that isn't much, and I can so slightly over, to around 350K but would prefer to keep SOME money in the bank to go towards training. I have been playing neopets for 6 years and have nothing to show for it. Grr.

Anyway. Here are my battle pets stats. I KNOW they are awful, I have only in the last few days started to train and will be continuing to train at least a few points everyday for the forseeable future.

SundownOnATuesday (Ruki)

Age : 647 days old (15537 hours)
Level : 12
Gender : Male
Height : 67 cms.
Weight : 64 lbs.
Hit Points : 41 / 24
Strength : titanic
Defence : very heavy
Movement : cheetah
Intelligence : mega genius (53)

I would really apprieciate some adive on a decent battle set for around 300K that I can build on and improve as my Ruki trains and I get better in the battledome. I eventually wish to collect all the battledome avatars (I can't even get the meuka one, it really is feeble), so I guess thats my aim :)

Anyway, thank you

Thanks Rachel!

As Cranberry has posted, a few times before ;), you should build your BD set with this kind of outline

Pure attack (does a lot of icons)
Pure attack (does a lot of icons)
Dual-duty (does a few icons and defends a few icons)
Dual-duty (does a few icons and defends a few icons)
Freezer (freezes the enemy)
Bomb (does a hellofalot of icons, but one use)
Healer (heals your pet
Defense (Downsize!, Shield) or Stealer or another Bomb, depending on opponent

For pure attack I suggest the Stone Club x2 because it does 9 icons for 75K in the trading post right now, it may go lower so you might want to wait if your tight on you budget. For dual duty, scarab ring is the best for its price. For a bomb Illusens Earth potion. For a freezer Snowglobe staff. For a healer, Slime potion(10hp) or Bronze Scorchstone (15hp). For defence, Downsize! and/or Leafshield. I hope these fit into your budget

I have been trying to type something that means 'well, you helped me, so it's you I want to thank' without being rude. But I can't work my brain properly.

Anyway, thanks to you and cranberry for the great advice that you give, it's my guess a few people would be still battling with a lightening gun and a plastic butter knife if you guys weren't so open with your knowledge :)
