Something I've always wondered is, if you guys want neoschools so bad, why don't one of you high tech computer wizes, make the neoschool yourself and give it to them, and they can change what they don't like, cause if you give it to them they can put it up.

Yeah, but since when has Neo had to tell the truth...

Besides, if they can make the Lost Desert Plot as intricate as it was, they can rig up a Neoschool system somehow. Until a staff member/somebody with firsthand knowledge states otherwise, I'll still stand firmly in my opinion there was something more going on than just "its a big, complex project".

I could write the Neoschools script with well under 100 lines of programming. Very, very simple.

Maybe they ran into patenting issues, who knows, but all I can say is that the Cellblock game was much harder for them to code than Neoschools would be.

I don't think it was a matter of how complicated it was to plan or to code. I think they explained it in an editorial but I can't remember when. The problem was more about conceptualizing it and how to keep it interesting and how to get "education" and "fun" to fit together like fitting a square peg in a circular hole. It was just the whole idea they couldn't get to work.

But for all I know there might've been some coding issues among other complications as well.

All I know for sure is that while I was exploring a graveyard in the Darkest Faerie PS2 game, I came across a gravestone that had "Neoschools" written on it. And that pretty much put the lid on that.

That's revenue, not profits.

I know, but do you really think it costs between 12 and 15 million US to run a online company like Neopets ? In order to need to generate more revenue (eg : Through banner ads) is if you aren't meeting your base costs. Past that point, you don't need the banner ads, you simply want more profit, which is perfectly acceptable from a business point of view, the main goal for pratically any producer is profit maximisation, but that's not what they said now, was it ?

Yeah, well, if I have to choose between believing TNT or silly rumors, I pick TNT. Sorry.

Maybe so, all I can say is your info about possible copyright issues is way off.

I usually keep my opinions to myself, but this time I will say that the idea of Neoschools always sounded stupid to me.

I can see ONE good use for neoschools. We have items that have no use besides as gallery items. If Neoschools required those items and at the end of the coarse you make/get/earn a useful item, then it would be worthwhile.

Items that I would like to see used would be: gifts, school supplies, toys, keychains, collectable cards and coins, clothing, grooming, instruments, and some gardening and furniture.

Items I'd like to see come out would be useful 'one time use' items items like books, dubloons, codestones, healing or bd items, and food.

I'd have to agree here, I wasn't much looking forward to Neoschools and didnt partake in the restocking of any school related items. If they ever did release it, I would of ofcourse taken a look and I after experiencing it may have actually liked it but the idea of it didn't appeal to me much at all. Meh.. my 2 cents :)

I agree...at the time, I was sick of school (now college). Even transplanted into Neopets, it's not very appealing. I imagine someday, when they are not busy with plots or whatnot, they will either retire the items or develop Neoschools (with retirement being far more likely). In all honesty, I think it would be a very ambitious project to try to tackle.

They aren't going to retire the objects, I think. Just look at the clothing shop. They once said that "soon you could clothe your neopet." That never happened, and never is going to happen. Of course, they might have been retired if the fire faerie didn't still ask for those items, but I think they'll just become another item set they periodically increase when they feel inspired. And who knows, maybe one day they'll release Neoschools or have a faerie ask for the items. *touches wood*

What I think they could do with the clothes shop though is turn it into some kind of doll clothes shop. You can get a doll and dress it up and it'll just be another thing to customize and show off like neohomes.
