Eh, I don't use FasterFox. FF is plenty fast without it (my FF loads up and then fully loads the Google homepage in 2 seconds, while it takes IE 5 seconds). Don't see what FasterFox would really help with (since I think that any slowdown I have is due to the sites and forums I visit).

Is it really enough of a boost to bother with? (if it is, I'll download it, but if not, then I don't really need it.)

Tabbing is tabbing is tabbing. Comparing tabs is like comparing toes, they look alike, they function the same way, and well... they smell.

(I'm not a huge fan of tabbing, for some reason or another, it just seems a bit squished together to me.)

Edit: 843 has a point about the apostrophes, that's pretty much the only thing it can be and it wouldn't change from computer to computer (and... well... it doesn't happen outside of that.)

I downloaded it and didn't notice any difference in speed -- but then again I'm on dial-up so that could be the reason.

I say try it out and see what happens; you can always uninstall it anyways.

Have you tried modifying the pipelining numbers? I can't remember the defaults though.

I've never understood what everyone has against IE. It's what I've always used without problems, and I don't intend to change unless I begin to have problems - if it's not broken, why fix it? It really irritates me when I have some simple problem with some website or another, and when people hear I'm on IE, their only response is, "Well that's your problem, switch to FF!"

(Bet you £5 someone will respond to this telling me to try FF and I'll see the difference, never go back, etc.)

I'm the same way. I have a very good friend who I do respect, but who angers me quite a bit when he goes on his "FF is the best thing ever, IE sucks" rants. I think the people that do use IE are so tired of being told of the greatness of FF that it just makes us dislike it all the more.
I had FF for awhile, didn't work for me very well, I didn't enjoy it, and I prefer IE. And thats how I am. I'm old, i'm stuck in my ways, and thats me.

I live in the US so I don't have any quid to give you but... try FF and you'll see the difference, never go back, etc.

In that case, I'd say the current exchange rate means you owe me about $50. Cough up. All 10s, please, they're more fun to spend. (Have they released the new ones yet? I saw a picture, they look funny. I wanna see one. :P )

=D

But see that would be a bad deal seeing as 10.00 EUR is only $12.62 USD. After I buy an international envelope and pay for postage I'll only owe you a couple bucks at the most so I'm sure you don't want to waste mine or your time on a few measly cents.

Besides, I roll with C-notes, b; I ain't messing with no small change. 8)

The maxrequest one is 20., I believe the default is 8.

I downloaded it again and set the pipelining numbers as you said and I am noticing a difference in the time it takes the forum pages to load. Thanks for the tip, hopefully I'll see even more difference once the cache builds up.

Postage to the UK isn't that much, really. Under a dollar.

If it makes you feel better, though, you can just hand deliver the cash to some of my family in the US...what state are you in, I can probably find someone close enough. =D

(And, psst, what do euros have to do with anything anyway?)

Not airmail it isn't, which I would of course use to get the money to you as fast as possible ;)

I live in Wisconsin and have you checked the price of gas (see "petrol") lately? It'd cost way more to "hand deliver" the cash to a relative than it would to airmail it.

Euros, United Kingdom Pounds; they're all the same to me. USD to GBP conversion is about 55 cents on the dollar so 5.00 GBP would be $9.13 USD.

Airmail isn't that bad, honest.

Ew, Wisconsin? That's ages from anywhere. Not much good then, are you?

And finally, the pound is stronger than the euro, so don't get them confused.

(And no need to translate gas to petrol - I'm American, and thus fluent in American English. ;P)

Cassi darling, you seem to have your dollar/pound exchange rate just a *little* bit off.

I don't use firefox, I just use Mozilla. It's essentially the same thing though :P Basically, I like having tabs. It crashes on me more than IE did, but I really, really like the tabs.
