Don't get discouraged...took me 2 1/2 hours last night and then I figured out that I couldn't get it because I didn't start over every time I messed up!
This morning I did it the first time. I started waiting at the Archivist's for the minute to change to :00, then clicked the petpet, clicked 'check on' immediately, did the action and clicked 'check on' again, then waited for the minute to click over to :00 again - click 'check on', do the action, click 'check on' again and so on. I did this in one window while trying to work and avoid the prying eyes of my boss. It was easy just waiting for the next :00 - you don't wait a full minute in between...that was what messed me up last night. I would wander off to check dinner and then come back and click...DOH!

I like pie.

does anyone have suggestions for a VERY VERY slow computer? by the time i check in and do the appropriate action, its past the minute already. i'm afraid i may have to quit this plot altogether cuz i've been working on this for over 2 hours now. :(

Might I suggest finding a friends computer (which works faster)? Or, yes I know this sounds unethical, but it might just work, ask someone you trust, to log in as you on their computer and do the sequence for you? I know we all encourage not giving out passwords and the like, but you can change your password after the function is done, if it bothers you too much.

For those who are fortunate enough to use Firefox, SeaMonkey or Opera here is how to get the Gelatine working with these browsers:

Firefox: There are 2 options available.
Option 1: Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Cache -> Set 'Use up to X MB disk space' to '0'.
Option 2: Go to about:config -> Fill in 'browser.cache.check_doc_frequency' -> Right-click on the 'browser.cache.check_doc_frequency' entry -> Click on Modify and change this value to '1'.

SeaMonkey: Tis easy to get this right in good ol' SeaMonkey.
Option 1: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Cache -> Set 'Compare the page in the cache' to 'Never'.
Option 2: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Cache -> Set 'Size' to '0'

Opera: I believe the following should work (uncomfirmed).
Option 1: Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Browsing -> Unclick 'Reuse every page'.
Option 2: Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> History -> Set 'Disk cache' to 'Off' and perhaps set 'memory cache' to 'Off' as well.
Option 3: Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> History -> Set 'Check images' to 'Always'.

Safari and Konqueror: Unfortunately i have no MacOSX or KDE at hands here.

Note: Do not forget to clear your cache after you changed any settings!

(Info partly found at http://forum.statcounter.com/vb/archive ... 16563.html )

Update: To be absolutely sure your cache is refreshed when you visit, do the following (for Firefox, SeaMonkey should be similar)
1) Check what time it is and go to your Tomb and click on the Wooden Bar.
2) Right click on the Jelly and click Copy Image Location
3) Go to 'about:cache' and press CTRL+F then paste the image location.
4) Compare the time it was Last Modified to the time it was when you were at Step 1.
5) Optionally wait a few minutes for sake of easyness to compare. Then repeat Steps 1-4 one more time to see if the time it is at Step 1 is the same as the time the image was Last Modified according to the statistic at Step 4.

help! i've been caring for my vaeolus for nearly 45 minutes and it's still not better! i've been refreshing every minute and performing the appropriate action for at LEAST the last 20 minutes. any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat bethi. I've been performing the actions exactly as supposed to, refreshing at the top of every minute, and I've been doing that since 8:10. It's now 8:35 and I don't think I've gotten anywhere. This is the first part of the plot I've had trouble with...it's discouraging to say the least.

don't refresh exactly at the top of the minute. wait a few seconds, then check on him. that's what i did and i got it the first try ^^

The janitor shouts, "Punch Club?! You went to Punch Club without me?! RAARGHHR! I LOVE PUNCH!! I WISH I HAD SOME RIGHT NOW!!!" He foams at the mouth and growls incoherently.

They are indeed in the same place.

Make sure you have your petpet, the medicane, and the food first, they may be required first to get the bandages.
