I agree with whomever said that it is the point of the plot to search for the stars ourselves. But the best example of what people should be looking for is right on the Tomb door. Having said that, I hereby volunteer for Helper Duty until 2PM NST today. If anyone needs help, PM (!) me your star_data (making sure it is *new*) or map and I will do the best that I can.

Personally I think that is rather selfish. Somepeople are good at seeing things like this, some aren't. We don't have anything else to do on the plot just now so why can't those that have already found theirs help those who haven't?

I found mine, but it took hours of comparing the big map to the telescope map without any luck. Finally I just kept clicking through the telescope map and the constellation appeared. So I understand the frustration that some are going through. I wouldn't be any help though for someone else, considering that it was so hard for me. But I am glad to see people helping those who are having trouble.

I'ts not selfish at all.
At the LDP people had everything worked out what they should do right here.
Just follow the steps. But people had to make their own map, look for their own doors, try them out themselves etc. People could post here if they got really really stuck, or when they tried to solve the latest clues.

Right now though, people aren't putting enough effort into finding their own stars. I mean it isn't that bad now, but right now we get at least 5 requests every hour. Imagine in a week when we have 4 signs to look for. 20 requests every hour, which leaves little time to solve the game.

The entire solution is posted on the 1st page, all they have to do themselves is look at 1 picture for some silly dots...
Somebody needs to post an example of every constellation found so far.
(just like it was done in the LTD plot)
This way people know exactly what to look for.
It might not be a big deal now, but there are what? 11? 12? constellations yet to come

Just in the defense of the people here at PPT. Selfish is probably the last word i would use. they have been helping people all night and morning.. I am glad to see someone take the others place in helping... Even the best need a break

Who cares if we're being helpful! that's the POINT of a board!

Remember how long the Lost Desert board took? How many splits there were? And how many people posted requests for help in their repository, finding their scrolls, and all that jazz? Come on, let's help each other out, here!

Plus, this plot is NOT going to be followed by a war. Helping others gives some of us things to do. And, honestly, if you keep up, it's not that hard to sort through everything!

The point of a board is to help...so why are we all complaining?

Personaly I found the easiest way to find you constalation (after gettin the correct map LOL) was to take a screen shot of the star mapper and put it in paint (or personaly I used picture it) and then use the template that (sorry i forgot who) provided and slide it around after zooming in a bit. i really suggest that way instead of just staring at the star mapper. If you havent tried that method yet try it before asking for help and remember your correct star map should have LOTS of white stars compared to the color... And also doesnt the satalite only float through if you are looking at the correct map? (I cant remember)

I eneded up finding the constallation on my own apoligise to the person who actually zooomed in on it. and I think the thing people need to remember is that colour does not matter, only the shape. I think this will help people who are having trouble.

All I thought was that people could put a little more effort in themselves, since everything is already chewed up and ready to swallow, apart from 1 bit...

Neopets should never have released that list of coordinates, without that, people couldn't ask for help and would have had to do it by themselves by only using the telescope....Tricky? yes!
But then again so was mapping your Tomb in TLD, making it a lot harder for free riders to join the big raid for treasure

I think you got the wrong end of the stick. I'm only saying that those now not willing to help someone who is having trouble are selfish.

Some things can't be posted on the first post because each map is unique - if we just tell those that can't find a constelation that they are on their own what does that say about us? And we won't be having 12 times this by the end, we may still have the odd person being behind, but if we bother to help the rest, we should all be more or less at the same stage, meaning when number 12 comes out, we will mainly be helping those stuck on number 12.

This thread is here to help people - what good is it to then turn round and say that someone is on their own? Fine, if a question is asked multiple times and it is on the front page, yes I do get irritated, but right now with each unique map, not helping those with problems is just, to me, not the PPT way.

I think the satellite went through on all the maps (on mine it did anyway)

As for the helping issue, that is what we are here for, but it would be up to a mod to decide if they want people to post for help here or not. I do think a sample in the first post would be a good idea though.

In the meantime, I am always here to help and feel free to pm me your data or link if you need help finding a constellation.

On the whole star-searching-helping issue:

With the LDP, there was no way to map the tomb other than doing it yourself. That’s a bit different. Now we have a star mapper, so anyone can see the sky by putting in the right coordinates. I don't think it really matters that people are asking for help-as long as they do the other necessary steps, they are still doing the puzzle. They may just not have the best eyes in the world. These threads are here to help people. And besides, right now, there’s nothing else to do-were not trying to work out some other step of the puzzle, there’s nothing happening right now.

I'd be helping the people who can't find there stars, but I usually take too long to find them. xD At least three other people find them before me. Sad, but true.

Since PPT is loading rather slow for me right now, I am extending my invitation to help for another hour or so (until 3PM NST or a little later) so long as you PM me your (new) map and/or star_data.

I believe that if some of us can help some others at this early stage, it results in them being better able to help themselves later on, as it will get much more difficult from here on.
