Uhmm... I'm not sure if this is the case with everyone else, but my X axis goes all the way up to + and - 500 and beyond.. to like 544

I'd say something witty if I could. But we can't always be so smooth.

:o :o :o

and might I add

:o :o :o

What star co ordinates? Where did you get co-ordinates? What constilations? Some one just make that up and everyone is looking for it?

:o :o

axis????

I looked at the cosilation guied on http://www.neopets.com/~evilpet12#htmc
and I am sorry, but the 'star locations' don't even fit to my eye . It just looks sort of 'close'

One would think that if we are to map constellations then there must be a point of reference (it would seem nigh on impossible to do it by clicking random stars) and the only one I can think of is the 'jewels' above the heroes heads. So I looked at those for a significant shape that's easy to spot (bearing in mind that the constellations could be at any orientation in the sky). In the Marak 'map' is an oval in the bottom right corner but I have searched and searched the sky looking for this oval without success. If these are not the reference then what is? Even more significant I think is that if everyone's stars are different (and I cannot find any correlation between mine and any of those published so far) but everone's hero jewels are the same, how can these be used to find constellations? It makes no sense to me!

The star coordinates are located here: http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.ph ... tar_data=1

When you look into your telescope, you're essentially looking at a four quadrant graph with an x and y axis. (Think back into your algebra teachings.)

The constellations are the ones found in the TCG for each appropriate hero and their correlation to the gems on the ceiling above each statue. You can see a good graphical representation here: http://petpages.neopets.com/~evilpet12

How exactly did your guild member get that "code" of his?

Well that petpage might be helpful ... if they weren't bandwidth exceeded

I am completely and utterly lost. I'm trying to map my stars, but at this point I'm not even sure if I'm doing it right. Everything is starting to look the same to me.

It seems very "math" based, which if it is, I'm pretty much doomed. I've been out of school over 30 years and failed basic algebra when I was in school. I sure hope there's something else to this!

The link to get your star coordinates
http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.ph ... tar_data=1

The coordinates have three numbers. The last number is the star type (color) 1-6.
The numbers
COLORS
1 white [smallest]
2 yellow
3 light blue
4 red /pink
5 purple
6 white [bigger] (looks like light blue but you can tell the difference if you look closely

star types 5 and 6 have very few of them (may be important)

I don't understand what we're supposed to do with that... could someone explain it to me? I know they're star coordinates, but why are there 3 numbers to one coordinate? o_0 so lost...

Ok, just to make sure I've got it, the idea is to get the coordinates, find the stars they point to and then figure out how to make the constellations. Right?

Please don't make me think back to Algebra...too painful. My brain goes into a complete mind meltdown from which there may be no coming back some day.

From my guild board:
Quote:
Rainbow Hex Codes

This theory takes a bit of explaining, so bear with me please.

Above each statue in the Hall of Heroes is blue Gem Pattern. Each of the 12 statues has a different pattern, and these 12 are in the same order for everyone.

When you look at any of your own gem patterns, you will see a 32 digit code at the end of the page URL:

After extensive cross checking, it appears that each of your 12 statues will have a different code, and no two people will have the same codes - that means that the code you see is user specific.

We can also tell that the codes are user specific because if I were to go to the URL with your code at the end, I would find myself at the statue, NOT at the gems. Yet if I go to the URL with my own code at the end, I get to my own gem pattern. With me here?

Now, these 32 digit codes are made up of a combination of numbers and the letters a-f. They appear to be HEX codes - that is, numerical representations of colour.
Quote:
I'm not sure if the Hex theory has anything to do with the stars, but I just threw it out ther for something to think about. It appears we all have different codes...

Quote:
The code at the end of my "jerdana" statue is:

2e3a2dc1e9f2c6c57636a40f96e0920d

23219265763640960920 without the letters...

Could that somehow have star co-ordinates hidden in it somehow??
Quote:

That is all I have and why I have been doing things that now I realized is worthless. lolol I thought that the code he gave me was from ALL of the URL's , not just one. Oh well.
Thanks for time, patience and explanations....too many 12 hour shifts and way too little sleep. I will be back tomorrow. Night!

When you submit a request to check coordinates this is what the link looks like:

http://www161.neopets.com/altador/astro ... ;218,-395|
415,-427;313,-237|218,-395;415,-427|218,-395;167,-373|167,-373;218,-395|
167,-373;232,-132|232,-132;167,-373|232,-132;243,-187|313,-237;415,-427|
313,-237;243,-187|243,-187;313,-237|243,-187;232,-132

(edited link to fit on page)

The star submit field has a representation of the 5 edges (6 nodes)
I don't know if this helps but I guess you could check every possible combination of links for your coordinates and see what happens.

My eyes are like this right now @.@

I feel like an idiot not knowing what the link means and how to map stars.

ragevietnow, could you edit your post so it doesn't stretch the screen?

I just had a thought.....these coordinates? Anyone think that the numbers found on the TCG cards might be part of it?

I agree. I also find it odd that it's been more than four hours since this stuff got uploaded and not one single person here or on the neoboards has found even one constellation yet. We have to be missing something.

I still can't figure out the gems, and it really bugs me.

That's odd, because I can still visit them and they haven't exceeded bandwidth for me.

Craftdee: This graph is pretty much what we are looking at when we are trying to find our constellations.

Image

So the coordinates reach ~-540 to ~540, on both the x and y axis.

(~ is a mathematical symbol we use to represent "about"... so it reaches about this number, give or take a bit. My graph reaches about 570, so it's different for everyone, in the same way each sky is different for each user.)

The page http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.ph ... tar_data=1 gives us all the coordinates individual to our own Altadorian sky. So each star on our sky is shown by something such as (123,-50,1) for example, with the numbers representing, in this order:

123: location along the x-axis
-50: location along the y-axis
1: color of the star (1 through 6)

Hope this makes more sense to you.
