Would anyone like to give me a hint about that oil and rag? I want to be at the telescope as well, yet I've failed to even find the rag and oil...

I honestly can't remember the order of the steps. Just poke around the archives (especially the head archivist), the quarry (found in the trees at the bottom of the Altador map), and the hall of heroes, and use the tab trick to click on everything clickable. It's easy to follow... nothing hard yet.

Just keep clicking on statues. It's random.

It said that for me as well, although I didn't have to click anything to "join". And for me, the image doesn't appear.

Edit: Maybe TNT didn't expect us to get this far already...

The rag and oil is behind one of the statues. Just check all 12, you'll find it if you're up to that step.

Edit:
(Edit: Oops, sorry for the double post... the preview page said there were others after mine... :\)

Copied and pasted from the Neoboards, since this is actually rather well-writen:

Steps Known So Far:

1. Go to the Janitor (in the back of the Hall) and click the button. Click Continue.

2. Go to the Archives and talk to the Lenny, then click the orange book under the table legs. He'll tell you that it's a stablizer. Click continue.

3. Go to the quarry and click on the flat rock in the upper right hand corner to get it.

4. Go back to the Archives and click on the book. It should let you replace the book with the rock. Click continue.

5. Example the book on the desk behind the table and click on the upper right hand corner to read the Prologe.

6. Go back to the button and push it. The Foreman will tell you it needs grease.

7. The grease is on the 'ceiling' of a random statue in the hall. Check them all until you find it.

8. Go back to the button and push it to open up the ceiling.

JasEdit: Do not double post. If you were the last to post and you want to add more, please use the "edit" button in the top right of each of your posts. Thank you. :)

Nabile pwns you...

Do you guys have the link to the book yet (I mean, to the book you can read)? I can post it if you want. I ask because I'm not sure how to actually get back to the book otherwise (unless there's a link in the archive that I'm missing).

There doesn't seem to be much of interest in there. Just a prologue and a bunch of blank pages that I think will fill as the puzzle progresses.

Edit: Nevermind. The book's on the desk. :P

AHA! That stupid rock was what I was missing. Oh, thank you. :-D

So, I'm 33 pages into the book yet everything is blank. I wonder if every page will be filled soon enough?

You guys, this is really cool. I really like this plot!

...also, I found my oil behind King Altador, the Hunter.

As members of the astronomy club, we should be able to ID that constellation.

I think we have to find the telescope first.
Little thing I thought maybe not everyone had noticed: you can look at the cover of the book with only a prologue. That may have a future purpose.

Did anyone else's Archives text change after they found the observatory?

Quote:
The archivist says, "Amazing! The ceiling of the Hall of Heroes opened? What a marvel! Perhaps there are some clues about the Book of Ages to be found there."

Is the Book of Ages something we should be tracking down to open up more options for the observatory? Or vice-versa?

yup, the book can be read, but it's only until Page 3. I've got a feeling the more we do, the more pages can be read :o

Maybe it'll be an Ursurper-style game where we have to find out who's the Betrayer
