It's coming up rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. Not that I would see a horror movie anyway.

I just came from seeing it today.
Yeah it's pretty cliche... but it was still a decent horror movie.
Plenty of gore and plenty of violence.
Also had alot of good parts that make sit on the edge of your seat or cover your eyes waiting for something to happen.

If you're looking for some deep movie with meaning... it's not the movie for you... if you're just looking for a decent horror movie.. then you should like it.

i saw it yesterday it was really gory and alot of violence and i covered my ears for some scenes because of all the pop ups. And just like shollia said it isnt very deep and it doesnt have much meaning but it is a good horror movie and if you like horror movies you would like it..

Excuse me? My mother worked as a cafeteria monitor for a year. And she's currently attending school with high honors (straight As) to become an aide for special needs children. Think before you judge.

Sounds like something that would scare me out of my brains, but I do feel attracted to all the violence. It's possible that I'll see it, would like to hear more about it, though.

Why doesn't anybody make original movies anymore it's just remake after remake after remake

I haven't seen either version but I shall watch both and see how they compare

You know what, you are right. There is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, When a Stranger Calls. Before i went to see the hills have eyes i bought the original version and watched it first. I have to say i liked the remake better only because it was longer and more entertaining. Although usually i like the originals.

I was going to mention it was a remake, but it seems you guys know that... ;-)

They are doing some pretty good remakes lately, though. I saw the original Amityville Horror awhile back and wasn't scared at all, it was very bland. Then I saw the remake in theatres and almost died from fear. I honestly wanted to walk out halfway into the movie... that's how scary it was. Needless to say, they took the freakiness of Amityville Horror up about 210% and turned it into a real scary movie with the remake.

Oh, too good for horror movies huh? I can't remember the last time I watched a movie that WASN'T horror.

Bah...when will directors realize that gore and violence AREN'T "horror?" They can be gross and they can be scary, but those aren't the same thing as "horrifying". Not by a long shot. Horror comes from moody atmosphere and disturbing concepts. There shouldn't even have to be death or danger if a horror movie is made right.

I saw it this weekend. Wow it was really uh..bloody. For some reason I almost started crying and got all emotional when the people died haha. What the heck though..I never cry in movies and it wasn't even scary to me. I'm going to blame it on it being that time of the month.

And on another note if I ever have radiation exposed mutants after me I want that guy with the glasses to defend me cause he was doing some serious buttkicking.

No, it's not an elitist pretention - horror just isn't my thing. But yeah, my idea of horror IS the chainsaws-and-guts kind of flick, and I thought The Others was pretty dang cool.

(Now, I am pretty elitist when it comes to "Look! Drugs, suicide and child abuse!" movies and books.)

YOU are so right, the first amityville horror wasnt scary at all and then when i saw the remake i was jumping out of my seat they really did make it scarier!!

I hated the Amityville Horror remake, they completely mangled the story up and made it too much like the shining.
I was watching a program about it and the guy that wrote the original Amityville Horror book was trying to sue because it's nothing like the original story.

I didnt like the others, it got too boring for my taste.
