Now to be fair, when I first saw the shopkeepers for this pet I hated it. I didn't like, I thought it was horrible, etc. However it has grown on me. While I wouldn't get one of these pets, I'm starting to think it's sort of cute. I think I just had to get...used to it. It's really not too bad, and the plushie we got from the advent calendar is cute.

Aw, it's not so bad now that I can actually see its poses. The shopkeepers and all that stuff released earlier just looked... wrong... but the poses are very well drawn. And it's been a looooooong while since TNT released a pet that wasn't really based on any particular real animal at all (by appearance, anyway). The randomness is pretty cool in itself.

The mohawk is a little insane for my tastes... but in all honesty, I don't think I could've come up with a better design, so I can't complain. It's not bad... I guess I like it a little more than I dislike it, just because it's so random. Also because it's such an oddball. Half the world hates the poor little freak, and it just makes you want to cuddle it. Or maybe that's just me...

My view on the issue is quite straightforward.

For shame, TNT, for shame.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the xweetok. It's sickeningly cute, which is why most people hate it. There's already plenty of cute, cuddly, fluffy pets and adding another when the lutari and April Fool's pet had not been chosen was very poor timing. I don't think that half the Neocolours forum would have cared as much if the lutari and contest winners had been released. It still wouldn't have been liked by the majority, but certainly not hated.

This on the other hand is yet another completely random species, but it doesn't have the overwhelming cuteness of the xweetok going for it. Just because many people are sick of cute pets doesn't mean they want ugly ones. Just look at the ruki or the hissi. They could have used any variety of animals like scorpions, spiders, octopi, squids, or any other variety of creepy crawlies as a base. Instead we got yet another furry mammal, but this time it's ugly as all get out.

And yes, my opinion, though I have to emphasize that nothing could make me come close to liking this thing, is influenced by the cruel joke on April Fool's showing us all the cool pets we could never have. Now instead of releasing 2 or 3 of those pets people really really wanted, we get one and two random and unimpressive species.

it just seems really busy.. and sort of.. un-neopian. I can't imagine it naturally being a part of neopia, like I could with the rukis and yurbles and can with the lutari. weird. I wonder why they're releasing so many new pets.

This pet has kind of grown on me. I've been watching the discussions about this new pet for the past couple of weeks, and it looks like I am in the minority of the few who actually like this pet. I like it because it is original. Yes, to some people, it looks like different things were just thrown together. I think that's what I really like about it. It doesn't look like an animal you would normally see in the real world (unlike the April Fools llama pet, which everyone adores, except me).

I find this pet (and the Xweetok) just don't look like Neopets. They look like they belong on a Neopet-rip-off site. The quality isn't as good as Neopets should be. C'mon... they can do way better than this.

Well, I like it. It's different that's for sure.. and that's what I like. It's not like the other Neopets. Which is a good thing. Glad they could be original for once. -shrug- I'm surely getting one. And the new llama thing when it comes out.

When I saw the pet in the advent calender animation, my first thought was "What is that THING?"

It just looks weird. I agree with Moogum- it just doesn't look like something that would be on Neopets.

My take on things

I find MOST basic neopet species to be tacky and horribly designed. This is fairly decent in my book. The actual pet doesn't have the hideous face everyone was complaining about in the shopkeepers, and the design is really fairly decent.

I always thought the kyrii had the worst design on neopets...I only accept it because a neopet with a mullet is funny.

To me it looks like a Ruki-esque base full of fur. Not saying I don't like it, I'm just saying that that's what it looks like to me. The Ogrin's ears look like the Ruki's antennae, and then the face shape looks similar, and... *rambles*

It's like Donna ate a bowl of alphabet soup, looked at pictures of the newer pets, threw up, and then found their names in the toilet bowl.

You guys are horrible. XD. Well, I decided I'm getting one. Already bought myself a Shadow PB.
