if you subtract all the new colors instead of all the old colors, do you end up with the same pattern as your first crystal? I havent seen mine yet so I don't know. I suggested this last night, what if we use the first one with the new catalog order?

I just noticed this on my yellow card catalog. There are multiple symbols for the same room. i.e. Desert Fauna is both Lat and Ahn. Sakhmetian Archives, Room 111 and Anubis Toxicology Reports are both doubled as well. Anyone else seen this?

i had that happen on my first crystal directories... i found that even though topics repeat, the symbols only show up once per rack. it didn't affect my scroll order, tho, since i'm waiting on my 'sharp eye' spikes ::sigh::

I have noticed that when you line your first row up with your second there are 4 colors on everyones that overlap:

r y y r y b x b r b y x x x b r
r o g o g p x b o b y x x x g p

So I took the 4 colors and read the scrolls in order . But nothing happened. Still since everyone who posted their colors have 4 matching it might be something.

Clue?

Yeah we tried that last night, no go :) :)

I've only seen 2 of the repainted card catalogs, and they are both yellow-red-blue.

And thanks for the example. I did understand the part about subtracting the old colours from the new ones. I haven't seen anyone saying they've used that method successfully to get to the next stage in the quest. I'm out of ideas myself so I think I shall go off to do my real-world chores.

Silly me. I went to sleep last night :P

Okay If I subtract my first row from my second I get:

r r b y b r b y b y y b

Before I start looking at these scrolls has anyone tried this?

I just can't get over the fact that you end up with 4 each of RYB again when you color subtract your 2nd lights. There HAS to be something with this...ugh!

Not true, I have 5 R, 5 B, and 2 Y.

I know dolphin's theory didn't pan out, but did he ever say what he tried and why he thought it worked? That'd really be some helpful info...

Platinum Mist........where are you?

I need to make something clear.

Two observations for when the color from the first crystal stay the same on the 2nd crystal...

1) If you try to read the same color again you will end up finding multiple scrolls with same color/symbol in the room

2) if you try to read white instead (to keep the color the same), you end up finding multiple scrolls again

It is my opinion that if the color stays the same, you need to ignore it. Leaving you with 8 scrolls to read.

It is also my opinion that after the next crystal 8 will stay the same, leaving you with 4 to read.

Then the last crystal we will only have 1 or 2 to read.

bn.

orange is a combonation of red and yellow
pruple is a combo of blue and red
green is a combo of yellow and blue

So theres only one way you can arrange them.

Is everyones repo directory order the same as well o_0

As for the 'color of your second cyrstal'

Do the color subtraction that people have talked about.
If your first cyrstal is

RRBR

and your new lights are
RPPO

Then the 2nd cyrstal must be
RBRY

Not quite correct. My original was RBY, so I can arrange the new ones as OPG (to make YRB), or PGO (to make BYR).

I'm still confused about this scroll reading.. *pulls out hair*

Do we only read one rack at a time?
Like.. My crystal goes Yellow, Red, Blue.

So would i read the yellow rack, than go read all the yellow scrolls that i need to, than come back and read the red rack, etc?

YAY After 13 hours I have finally been spiked. I have just under an hour until my lights come on. My nerves are a little better now. I only took a screen shot of my first light pattern. Do I need the source code? I didnt try while the lights were on, only when they were off. I didn't see the pattern there. I guess that would make sense. If you didnt need the lights to get your pattern then why bother waiting for lights.

I really wish we knew what was tried last night but not explained to us. It might give us a few new ideas. It was posted that he/she got a new message so something new was done.

So you're presuming that we don't do anything until we get another crystal?

Go to the post at the beginning of the split. Read the instructions, and if you don't understand those, come back and I will help. Some of what you're asking is there.
