could someone please tell me when i get the lights? some people say there are hours for each symbol, some say that you should do it in the morning, some say refresh, some say come back in an hour... i'm so confused.

edit: oh and how do i know what colors are my crystal?

I don't know about the hours (I'm a ben and I haven't gotten the light yet either), but you can see the colors by clicking on your crystal and then looking at the enlarged picture. The three holes in the top will now have colors in them.

I just came back every hour, meaning I could do something in the meantime.

To see the colours on your crystal just look it up in your items, the pop up window will give you a better look at it.

I haven't heard anyone come up with a successful pattern for when the lights come up. I know I spent about two and a half hours hitting F5 (with a couple ventures out of the room and back in, but the light came on the F5 for me) before the light shone.

For the crystal colors, if you click on the Useless Crystal in your Inventory (not SDB) and bring up the screen where you chose what to do with it, you get a blown up version and can see colors in the top three marks.

Just to make us both feel equally well: we're both right "color" is the correct American spelling and "colour" is the correct Brittish spelling. (And since I'm Belgian, I adapt to the country the forum is in )

I haven't seen a reliable explanation of when it comes on for any individual, I only know what happened for me. It took just under 5 hours for me to find the light (although these were the first 5 hours after the new repository opened and so no-one had any idea what was happening). The first few hours I was randomly clicking, refreshing, going in/out of the room but nothing worked. Then someone suggested that there was a pattern and that more people were having success when the hour changed so I waited doing nothing until 59 minutes and 30 seconds past the hour and started pressing F5 as fast as it could refresh and lo and behold when the hour changed the light came on. I know this isn't guaranteed, I was just lucky that it was "my" hour - I can only suggest if it doesn't work first hour for you then wait another 59 minutes and try again, eventually it will come on.

Anybody got any new theories on what we should be doing yet? And has anyone managed to get any further than just seeing the colours on the wall?

Followed the directions here in the first post - started a couple hours ago, found the room and just refreshed every time the hour changed. Got my light just now (9am NST) - sign is Kha. My scroll racks are Red, Blue, Yellow. Lights are: _R_B_YRYBB_RYBYR.

For those keeping track, I finally have the light! My symbol is Ben. My scroll racks are yellow, red, blue.
